Owned one of these in 93 exactly the same colour, I paid £5 for it, incredibly smooth, super comfortable ,was great on the motorway, the long wheel base made for a great handling bike in a straight line and in my opinion probably one of the most underestimated bikes of all time, highly recommended and as you say very very rare now and this one's an exceptional example and a credit to the restorer

I used to ride these as a courier in the seventies doing deliveries for a graphic design company in London. Occasionally if you kicked them over the bike went into reverse. A step or two up from the Triumph Saints they replaced.

Had a blue one in 1985 and paid £85 for it. Passed my test on a CG125 and got on that same day😂

Mate of mine had one that had been made into a proddie racer then converted back to a road bike but the engine was still in proddie tune. Went like stink but was rough and drank fuel, thing frightened me to death when he gave me a lift on it, I had a CD175 at the time.

I dont recall this model, I thought the GT550 was the available model at the time , which was a triple. This looks like the previous T500 engine in a GT550 chassis. Interesting to see it.

Totally different bike, chassis. Twin cylinder & was a decent proddy bike

This is the follow on model after the T500 it sported CDi ignition and a GT750 Tank amongst other changes owned one for many years a great bike OJA 996R are you still alive anywhere? The GT550 triple was a completely different motorcycle which was also part of the Suzuki two stroke model range at the time.

I get a bit emotional when I see one of these. Had one in blue, mint condition, late 80's. So many memories. Sadly died when the engine seized, due to my own ignorance and neglect.
