This is an exterior, interior and driving review / observations of the Triumph Stag.
This particular car has a quad-tip sports exhaust to give it more of a throaty V8 growl.
On a side note: This car has also had central locking added (weird I know?)

you are all living in a dream world, I had a Stag for 30 years from the 70s . I modified it to death, to make it worth while. Conan ex SOC modified co-ordinator

Gorgeous cars aren't they. The T-bar roof actually came about via a quirk of fate. Harry Webster gave Giovanni Michelotti a Triumph 2000 after the latter had requested one to use as part of a styling exercise and Webster liked the resulting vehicle so much, he decided to put it into production. However, despite the wheelbase being somewhat shorter, the convertible prototype still lacked rigidity and as such, the Triumph team came up with the torsional box T-bar to correct this issue and the rest as they say is history...

Those chrome sill covers were not offered on 74/75 cars, they came later. Nice car ..

They were imported to America from '71 to '73 . In MkI and MkII versions. I think there were around 3000 sold before they were pulled from the American market. There is an active Stag Owners Club USA with a couple hundred members. Good examples can be tracked down, and others are being restored and put back on the road all the time. I have a '73 MkII. It's a super, very comfortable, pleasurable car to drive. I enjoy it immensely.

My favourite V8 sound is from the Ferrari F355, and then the 8 into 1 header BMW E30 from Khyzyl - *8 Into 1 Header & 6 Into 1 Header Sound Compilation* - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DRI9CLF53Vw.html&ab_channel=JustStuff but the Stag does sound good.

If by "raw" you meant badly underdeveloped and badly put together, you're 100% right.

It sounds and look nice however triumph under British Leyland means badly assembled rust and big over heating problems.

Nice cars, But for what you would have to pay for a great example, I would choose a Porsche boxster or Mercedes slk 350.

Oh, I would like to buy a porsche boxster or a 996 cabrio. These cars cost a lot more as a stag. And the maintenance, too. I bought a stag for about 15.000 euros in a very good condition and a fixed engine. Show me a good porsche or a Mercedes with this price...In germany I couldn't find one. And I like the sound and the lines of the stag very much. If I have the money I maybe would prefer a Ford mustang. And by the way, to me it seems that "everybody" buys a porsche. But a stag? This is a very Individual car. And this is another thing I like about this car. And it is a 4 seater. And my son loves it. ;-) But everybody should like what he/she likes.

The “chrome clocks” are non standard. That Stag should have black bezels with a thin chrome ring. The wood is non standard too, the walnut dash is aftermarket. The side stripes aren’t correct , the thin one shouldn’t break over the rear arch. The four exhausts are some horrendous aftermarket thing and this stag has a Holley or a Weber carb which isn’t standard. Apart from that it’s an adequate video. You should check your facts before pontificating on the car though. This one is an average , modified car. There are a fair few real original ones about so why not review one of those ?

Thank you for your informative input Paul! Unfortunately, I can only share my thoughts on the cars that I have access to and which are in-front of me and this just happens to be the Stag that I have access to. I totally agree with you on the four exhausts and they have now been replaced with a standard system!

I`m surprised your immense knowledge couldn`t pick out it was a Weber carb. Way too much negativity going on in your `opinions`... Right or wrong, it`s a beautiful car...
