Great to get back to this after binge watching the 1974 TR6. Your method is consistent across both engines! Very entertaining and informative.

Elon, I enjoy watching you immensely, your skills and knowledge are developing, well done. I am watching you from Cyprus, a retired English ex-military engineer who used to be a welder many years ago. I think your videos are the best on RU-vid, thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations, I admire your commitment and energy, good luck to you, kindest regards, Paul

Far from boring (no pun intended) This was probably the most clearly explained video on this subject i have ever seen. Just about to carry out the same checks on a MK2 jaguar engine. So this video has been invaluable in making sure i do all the checks in a thorough manner.

If I had an old Triumph or any other car for that matter I'd bring it to you for work Elin, you know your stuff and I would rather swap money for the time it would take me to do all the stuff you can do and the tools I'd need to buy to get a good job done.

Great video. My 76 is knocking when it’s hot and the oil is thin. Almost certainly a rod bearing. I’ll yank the lump out this winter and measure the crank just like this.

My 72 used to run at 25psi when hot and 0 psi at idle/tickover. After the engine rebuild it went to 95 psi when started. A big difference. I looked up the data and the oil pressure relief valve is set to 95 psi.

Wow all that math made my brain hurt but I loved it lol.. I would have just measured one bank and if that was out of spec and needed work so do all the rest, very entertaining Elin, cheers..

Elin that error in the manual, shows why you need someone familiar with these engines to do engine overhaul. Imagine if you just took the block to your local engine rebuilder, and they just went with the numbers in the manual!😱

I would have given this video 10 out of 10 if you had done it in metric. But admire you with your European (and metric) background that you have totally adopted that to the Imperial system. Thanks for the video.

Hey Elin, excellent video. One random question, @ 23:15, is that a division symbol ➗? Never seen it used in place of a dash to mean “to”

Hey Elin, Thanks for your videos!! I am getting ready to start tearing down a 1275 for an Austin Harley Sprite. I was on Amazon looking for some calipers to do measurements and I thought if you had an Amazon affiliate link for the tools you use maybe people would buy via the link and you could make some income from that. I would use the link. I never bought a caliper so if you were interested in doing the link I would use it to buy my caliper. Just something to think about.

As a UK citizen (Scottish actually) I find the way you describe the measurements as plain daft. Stop calling the differences in "ten thousands of an inch" and instead call it out as 2.1 thousands of an inch out of round or 0.6 thou or 0.1 of a thou if the measurement is very close for example.
