The 70's Chicago Bulls in their prime. Van Lier, Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, Chet Walker and coach Dick Motta in front of a rabid Chicago Stadium in the 1975 playoffs versus the Kansas City Kings.
Note current Houston coach Mike D'Atoni as reserve guard for KC.
Also of note: Jimmy Walker (Jaylen Rose's father) and Jerry West at the broadcast mic with Don Crique

In 74 the Kings made Motta's long time assistant Phil Johnson their Head Coach. This started a great but brief rivalry between the teams. You tell anybody one of the Bulls biggest rivals used to be the Kings and they'll think you're crazy.

Tom Boerwinkle was one of the best passing centers of the 70s- and also a monstrous rebounder. He pulled down 37 boards in one game. Check his assists stats- he was 7-0 and underrated.

@@dmichael100 -He wasn't much of a scorer but he was a bruiser, he was always willing to do the dirty work, Tom never seemed to mind it but sadly injuries to his knees plagued him through most and to the end of his career. Tom was not afraid to bang with the Chamberlains, Abdul-Jabbars, Willis Reed, Bob Lanier during his time. He was a hard worker.

this is so much fun...i only had my first topps 1975 basketball cards as a kid ....i finally get to see them play! i had most all the players except chet walker! i never heard of him ...the chiron said he was in 13 consecutive playoffs??!! wow.....i love this bulls team (i can say i am enjoying this more than any current nba game)

So glad to hear you're enjoying them as much as I do. That enjoyment is exactly why I collected these games and am sharing them now. To me, complete games on video beat any other kind of memorabilia- cards, programs, magazines, you name it. To see the game as it was seen then is to relive it. Yes, I too like watching the basketball of this era more than current games- except maybe Steve Nash's Suns and Golden State now. I loved the 70s NBA (and ABA). Thanks for watching

Little known fact. This is the game Ken Reeves tore up his knee and had to retire. Later on transitioning to a successful highschool basketball coaching career.

I remember watching this game when I was 10 yrs old!! Who would have known that 10 yrs later that the greatest to ever play this sport would be playing in chicago!!
