My Dad had a triple silver 1976 Coupe De Ville and i drove it all the time. What great memories I have back in the late 1970's driving this Caddy. Thanks for sharing this one with only 3,600 miles on it....amazing time condition!
It's nitpicking but the Olds 98 was a little larger than a Caddy DeVille, and the Buick Electra was even larger. The only car GM built larger than the 1975 & 1976 Buick Electra, excluding limos, was the Caddy Fleetwood Brougham. This is a beautiful car BTW.
@@petermartinijr.1012 Yea. You are right. More times than not, on the auto dimensions, the 98 and regular Caddy DeVille were close to the same. Especially the width. The length and wheelbase was different. Olds and Buick had same wheelbase, but length and widths we're really close but did vary. I always wondered how you can have different dimensions but be on the same frame platform. I guess it was the bumpers and sheet metal differences.
My dad bought my mom a new one in 76. It was maroon inside and out and had white accents in the interior. BEAUTIFUL CAR and rare color combinations! I took it out of the garage about 10 years ago and spent around 11k on it getting it up and going. Sold it for 65k to a guy in CA. Mom's also had a factory moonroof. It had 22k miles on it when I sold it. Wish I had it back.
I still own my grandfather's 76 maroon on maroon and his 72 and 67 DeVille's. The 76 sitting at 44K miles absolutely love them all. The only thing I had done to the 76 was redoing the interior with leather.
It sure was! It went to Texas! Did you see the 4 cars I am currently running on Bring a Trailer! If you are not on that site, you need to be! Check it out!
@@seand2711 Sold for $35,000. However, it ended at 4:00 on Mother's Day, so I think people were preoccupied with family. I believe it should have sold for a few more dollars.
'76 was the best year for many reasons. My dad used to buy a new Coupe Deville every two years. I had about 10 years ago a 1976 Fleetwood Talisman. They only made about 1200 of them in 76. 34k miles Ziebarted. I was 2end owner came from Detroit was originally owned by one of the Harlem Globe Trotters. Besides the mistake I made marrying my exwife, selling the Talisman was the second biggest mistake I have ever made.
With the 8-track radio you must PULL on the volume button to eject the tape. I had a ‘74 coupe back in the mid-80s and loved it so much, even though it had rivers of rust and got fuel mileage in the single digits. Ended up in the junkyard after my mom got done with it in 1986 and I’ve been looking for another one ever since!
Had one in 1980 Even though only a few years old it was rusting like crazy .The engine as big as it was had very low horse power but tons of torque After just 5 years the skirts literally rusted off Was such a shame cause the car was for sure the best looking car in 1976 in the world This car looks like it just came off the assembly line absolutely gorgeous For sure this will go for well over a 100 grand maybe 200 grand , cause frankly speaking although many were made not many left now
SUPER nice car!! Crazy low miles!! Man I wish I could store it!! My all time fav 70's car!! Be careful Bill, RU-vid is going to come after you on copyright infringe for playing the radio with music on, no can do! Best of luck!!!!!
Yes, you are right! I quit playing the music in most of these videos. We are monetized now, meaning RU-vid will pay us a "small" portion the more people watch. However if there is ANY music in the background the video doesn't qualify for payment. Thanks!
I had a ‘76 CDV in Georgian Silver with a black landau vinyl top. Magnificent car. Once I took it out and parked it in front of an outdoor bar. A table of about 10 people applauded me as I parked. What other car would get that reaction?
This beautiful car is definitely Barrett Jackson material,my Grandmother bought a 75 Coupe DeVille new,it had the rare color called Cerise Firemist kind of a metallic rose color with white leather interior,I learned how to drive in that fine automobile.
I will say, if you ever get the opportunity to ride in or drive one of these in good condition please treat yourself. I still remember the day my Aunt bought hers new and came and picked us up to check it out.
Hi Bill. we are a hobby-band from the Netherlands. A few years back we made a CD ""GO"". The cover was picture of a local red Coupe Deville!. Now we are trying to make a no-budget video for that song. Is it possible to use your driving footage, we will only use some of the driving part, you will not be visible. Amazing car BTW!
Hey there! I got your email and gave you full permission to use whatever you need! Try to plug Competition Cars in the video if you can. And send me a link to the final video.Thank you and good luck!
The power antenna switch had two positions on it. The middle position of the lever let the antenna rise only a little bit. When it was flipped all the way up, then the antenna would rise all the way to full extent. Could you possibly have the switch in the middle position?
We did have it all the way up. The antenna mast would get corroded or be the switch it self go bad. The car would be 5-6 yrs old at this time. Thank you.@@gregt8638
Hey good morning! I only market my cars here on RU-vid and sell them on Bring a Trailer. It's just easier that way. Gets me to the right buyers quicker and easier. Here is a link to the auction we had on this one. And you can always just call me to see what I have or put in a request for you dream car! Thanks! Bill 843 294 7777
It takes more than flushing the A/C system and putting in R134a, the proper oil and the fittings to charge. Because of efficiency and pressure differences you also AT LEAST have to change the POA valve and condenser.
@@christianbugatticg -- Hmmm. You should have got more for that car. It is like a brand new one. I've seen that car at other places bring $55k and a little more.
@@jamesbass9797 I thought it would have done a bit more but if fell short. It ended on a Sunday at 4:00 on Mother's Day, so people were preoccupied at the end
I sold this for 35,000 last year, but we are in Myrtle Beach SC. I get these often enough if you'd like to call and me put you on my list! Thanks! Bill 843 294 7777
I could picture Juliet Garbacz making her own 8 track tape with her name on it. It will contain all eight tracks Tracklist 1. There’s A Great Big Adventure (2018) 2. When You’re Alone (2018) 3. Speechless (2020) 4. Girl On Fire (2021) 5. 7 Rings (2020) 6. There Is A Lady All In White (2020) 7. Journey On from Ragtime (2018) 8. The Cup Song (2020)
I saw a red light on the dash indicators that appeared to be on. You didn't bring that up for some reason. Something funny... I've been watching your videos a few times and never noticed that you're in Myrtle Beach until now. Have you always been in this location with your videos or is this a new place for you? I just may have to get on over there one of these days, as the only cars that seem to turn me on, are the classics. These boring cars of today just don't do it for me. They look like a bunch of used soap bars, rolling down the road.
Lol, yes rolling soap bars!!! The light is the coolant light, it illuminates and goes off once you close the door, so all good there. And yes I am in Myrtle at 541 Piedmont Ave, just right down the road from my previous location of 18 years. Come on by!
Lol! Well, they don't just all explode all at once, and I am was on a short drive at fairly low speeds. It is likely whoever buys this car will show it and not put a lot of miles on it and will want the original tires.
Made that is the biggest gas hog that GM ever made That's why you can find them for cheap under $10,000 today go and Emmy's motor news you'll see your big hogs $5 a gallon premium or more you never put your phone number in either order people don't have computers all the time
@@jackkennedy5322 As stated above , sold mine for $ 11, 700 to a guy in delaware , Owned in MN . bought Not driven in Winters ! Mine ran fine on 89 octane , but it was not thrifty on gas , but back in the day paid $ . 36 a gallon premium ! !
Car is nice but, I never liked them, just too big, too bulky, not appealing to my eyes, not a car i would've wanted to disire to have . Now if he was to show a 64 Cadillac that would be different, 64 Cadillac had some art to it, pretty snazzy looking, very appealing and nice to look at.
8 mpg at 5.00 a gallon ehhh. 😂 and 30 gallon tank 150 bucks to fill up . motor home gets better mileage than these did . lol. But yup sure is nice and pure.
Get your belt tightened and shame on you with that antenna. I could care less about old tires. Give me new as I’ll have to buy new. I’m particular too. I’ll be watching.
ok! Yeah I missed the antenna and now that it is all detailed and submitted for auction I don't want to bring it back to the shop or necessarily add more miles to the car. I am going to try and lube the mast to see if I can free it, as it does partially work! I will share the link when it goes live. Thanks!
@@christianbugatticg it’s nice. I hesitate as I’m more interested in a 79 Coupe De Ville like my parents bought. That was so nice. Not as big. Perfect size for today.
That's a major job to replace that antenna I did it on a Buick Riviera ones it took two men all day to replace it that's plastic I replace it with steel big job
How about those brake hoses and those rubber connecting lines to the fuel tank, always red coat the fuel tanks in my classic cars my 1976 Caprice with only 2,300 miles on it still has the window sticker and I was able to put my finger through the gas tank it rusted through so I have a brand new red coated gas tank in the trunk of the car. I'm going to keep that one for a while I'm going to ask 1 million for it because it's oh my God a Chevrolet
