Mr. Hernandez hired me in 2007 for my first teaching job, he is the real deal. He is all about the kids and families. Every time I see him I greet him with a big hug. Love and Respect Mr. Hernandez!

I came from poor family and wish that I had been in one of Mr Hernandez's school's. I learned all my education in California Youth Authority and Department of Corrections. Being a fast learner, I got 105 1/2 high school credits in one year as a teacher's aide, legally. The Board at California Medical Facility, (Vacaville), didn't believe my scores and ordered me to take the GED class and tests again. When I scored even higher than the previous tests they were stunned and gave me the respect I had earned and allowed me to work in Special Education classes with deaf and hard of hearing guys. When I paroled I had a 500 word vocabulary in American Sign Language and had an Associate Degree in writing, that I would work on while in "the hole" or Administrative Segregation, for the five years I was there. When I would get out, I'd go back to work. Funny thing is that it was all volunteer, I was never assigned to that job (which had a good pay number). I think the geniuses on the Board wouldn't give me the job as punishment for helping other inmates fight and win their Disaplinary write ups (called 115's). My Counselor told me "I hate you, but I have to respect you because you beat six outstanding case's (detainers), from here and I can't count how many 115's you beat that the staff have filed on you. He told me this when he was handing me my parole papers to go home two days before Christmas, just like I told him I was going to do. Several Board members laughed when I said that I was going to "Max out" (serve my entire sentence) at a Board hearing early in 2006. It's my hope that I might have had some of the same effect as Mr Hernandez has had. Thanks for your time.

Funny thing is I've never told that to anyone before. It feels good to know I did things to help my fellow man, even if we were felons and convicts. Amazing.

This was truly inspiring. At 33 I have lived a similar life, I came from poor upbringings and single parent household. I myself was raised in the scene and was shown values that drove me to become a law enforcement officer. I also use my truck to inspire the younger homies to keep their head on strait and to stay in school, and that one day you can achieve goals of any kind. This was the best one yet!!! SPANKY IS THE MAN!!!!!

Nice car ,but more important you seam to be a nice person ,now where I live a car like that could be real handy we got some bad drive ways down here, to lift a car up ,would be good and to lower it to cruise would be cool wish i knew how to build one ,but i am just a retired mechanic, dont have any knowledge about hydraulics lol
