This was probably the most rare body style of this model as there seemed to be more 2 door hatches, 4 door sedans and 4 door wagons of these back in the day. They were very fuel efficient and believe it or not, actually had pretty good performance given the competition in the 70's such as a Beetle or Corolla. They also typified perhaps more than any other what a Japanese car actually was. People that didn't own them seemed to hate them but they still sold very well. Thanks for sharing!

I owned one and absolutely hated it. It was stolen and returned, and I was sad, very sad to have it back. It was like a cockroach.

This was my first car. Easy to repair. Going uphill was a problem. .it probably took 20 seconds to hit 60 mph.

My first car my dad picked this model for me, he was a mechanic he always like the Japanese vehicles I cried I did not like the shape of the car, it was a reliable vehicle. Rest in peace dad your family miss you.

Back in the 80s my parents had a 1975 Datsun B210. It was the 4 door sedan with a green body and gray and brown pinstripes down the side. Black vinyl interior I remember those hot seats in the summer. Dad drove it to work everyday. Very reliable, but the body was slowly rusting away.

How is that color combo legal?! 😄 I mean, I had the yellow and someone should have been shot for that! So I painted it red and acted like it was a poor mans Ferrari! 😄

We had a red one automatic, same body style. I remember if we were going 30 and my dad floored it, the upshift would cause it to slow down and we would laugh. I remember him always repairing it. Didn't seem dependable like you guys are saying, but maybe he didn't maintain it.

That is funny. Yeah I would say we laughed at these cars a lot too. Our 75 would slow down up a small hill by our home. We turned onto the street at the bottom of the hill. We could get up to about 30 an then the cars coming behind would have to wait for us to cress the hill to get up to speed. We laughed at that every time. We had 3 of them over the years. A 75, 76 and 78. Two were hatch backs.

wow i just bought one with automatic transmission when i get it it will be desmogged and webber carberator hella h4 headlight conversions bronze tint and rare dog dish datsun hub caps with mercedes w 108 13 in slotted trim rings new exgaust no cat it will be faster.230sx special fan blade for better cooling,led bulbs here n there only 15000 miles same exact car color and model. i love my 80 510 wagon

I can't believe these are collectable cars now. My first car was a 1977 Datsun B210 in blue back in 1986. Exactly as the same as the one shown in this video except mine was automatic. I absolutely hated that car. All my friends had Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes. As soon as I saved up enough money, I bought a 1976 Datsun 280Z. I rememeber being so embarrassed pulling that B210 in my high school parking lot. Now here you guys are celebrating the B210. Just crazy!

It is funny. I felt the same way about the one my parents had which was identical in everyway to this one. However when I was 11 that car had rusted through. So, my dad put it in the back yard (big yard) and I started learning how to drive. That is when my feelings toward the car changed from embarrassment to love! I looked and looked for one identical and found this one 18 years later.

Mom had this car back in the mid 70s. My sister and I were getting too big for the back seat. She went from this car to a Chrysler Córdoba. From tiny to huge.

Had B210's for many years they were total rust buckets had them in NJ. Had 4 speeds and drove them to work the wife and I. Can't see how any one can say they were good in the snow they were horrible 😝😝😝😝 the only thing about them is that it does bring back memories 🥸🥸🥸🥸 LETS GO BRANDON 😷 😷 😷 😷

$4K I bought it for 2.5K with a blown head gasket. Repaired that, exhaust, new front break calipers and then babied it for over 10 years. Ended up getting my money back for my good deed :)

thats astounding -let me say as a former owner of one of these things ,I figured $3k a high estimate ,i think new they were around that figure ,my 77 honey bee or ? jumped timing driving cross country 8-9 yrs ago ,had to leave it in an autozone parking lot in tulsa ok . wish id of kept it now $$$

I looked in this official car collectors guide before I sold it in June of 2015. The guide was very helpful in that it was very specific about condition and other important notes. After considering all of that, it said that one should expect to pay or sell for $3,600-$4,500 (I may be a little off on the exact numbers). They were on the money.

I don't understand the obsession with these cars..they are the ugliest car around aside from that one year of Ford Mustang that was horrible!! No offense meant of course..I have memories of these cars from when I was a kid a few men from the church youth group used to pick me up for activities in one and I remember the smell...and the odd noise the blinker made...My parents had a nice, A/C equipped 1980 Camaro then only a few years old so to me this was a tiny car with no AC!!
