This episode of Mileage Unknown I am on a road trip to drop of my 2010 VW CC to my sister and pickup another project car!!! it's a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport with a 318 and a 4 speed!
Some of you have shown interest in my VW 4 speed shift pattern hat and Travis and I have started making some! We'll be adding new hats with different colors and styles and patches! Drive back at night. It will be cooler. There is nothing like the excitement of driving an unknown car on a long car trip. Glad you made it home OK . Best Wishes

IVOR WM yeah cruise back at night would've been ideal but with not really knowing the car and the short time frame had 2 take it where I could. Luckily it wasn't really that bad until I got stuck in the accident traffic

Stop and go traffic is the WORST!!! Especially with an old manual car it makes Ashlynn cry on the busy California freeways 😂

Dust Buggy it was brutal I couldn't even put the car in neutral for worry I wouldn't get it back in gear!

Awesome road trip and nice new addition! As for the fuel starvation issue on higher rpms, definitely change the fuel filter and clean the fuel system. Worse case of it still does it you may want to go up one size larger on the main jet.

VWJawbreaker it's weird I've driven it quite a bit down here without issues, I definitely still need 2 swap a new fuel filter I'm almost wondering if it was a touch of vapor lock after 10+ hours of driving then getting into the 100+ degree weather of AZ.....

Yes I believe it's possible to get 23-26mpg with your 318-4spd I currently own a 76 dodge dart lite spirit of 76' edition with the 225-4spd and get 30+ highway with this car. EPA was up to 36 highway but best I got was 31mpg and was completely happy with that. My other classic is a 74' dart hang 10 edition with the 360/4bbl and 355 axle ratio and 11.9 mpg on 93+ gas the slant six runs on the Wiesel piss 87octane😂 they are mostly cheaper head turners! Good luck with yours! Also worth mentioning is My 76 rear is probably the same as yours which is a 2:94 ratio.

I have a mid 90's Nissan Hardbody truck that i'll be turning into a Bracket Drag Car. For now, it will have a 5.9L Magnum (360 CID for those unfamiliar), but i wish to either put a 318 or a 5.7L Hemi in it in the future.

Oh it would KILL me if my sibling had my new project that I had just bought and not even seen yet and was driving it- let alone torturing me by telling me how excellent it drives! 😂

Voltage limiter goes bad and sending unit in the the tank.

Thanks for the Info! Planning on replacing the sender at some point, seems like it kind of works kinda doesn't so I think it may be the culprit.

Nice car brother! What part of Arizona are you in? I live in the Northwest corner and I just bought a 76 Dart Sport myself in Las Vegas, Mine is 318 with auto trans and it's about in the same condition, I;m just going to fix what needs fixing throw a cheap paint job on and use it for a daily driver/Cruise-In/Weekend Fun car. That Gas mileage is probally legit, they got 24 MPG from the factory and your only doing 60-65 MPH, so that might be legit.

Nice! I'm in surprise. I was shocked at the mpgs outta this I guess I'd never really paid that much attention on my old Mopars back in the day gas was 2 cheap 2 care! lol 😂
