Here's a 1976 Gottlieb Card Whiz pinball machine in action. Sorry about the glare on the glass in this video. Yes, I know I could have removed the glass for the video. Whatever.
Anyway, this is the two-player variant of the more popular four-player Royal Flush. Both of these titles are generally regarded as classics and are pretty typical of the kind of thing that Gottlieb was producing at their hey-day in the mid-70's. Drop target games with card themes from Gottlieb get lots of love from collectors and players. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this title, but the rules are fairly cool and hitting drop targets is pretty fun on the whole.
This game was designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison - the quintessential Gottlieb team from the golden age.

Do you have hit the targets in a particular order? I noticed that after all of the targets had been knocked down, they didn't reset.

The targets to not reset until the ball drains. This was common on Gottlieb drop target games of the era. Target Alpha, High Hand and others are the same.

Thank you for your response. I am looking for an EM machine with a card theme. I'm not sure who made it though I remember there were no fences at the sides of the machine. If you tried to trap the ball with the flipper, you often lost it.

That sounds similar to the flipper set-up on Doodle Bug, but that's a Williams machine and not a card theme.

The Doodle Bug machine is worse. The machine I'm thinking of is the same as Royal Flush except that it had no side rail to hold the ball when it went down the side. However, you could get the ball to jump over to the flipper rail if you pushed the machine at the right moment.

I think the one on the right at the end was broken because no bell went off when he hit it. The machine thinks that there is one left to go down before it resets them.
