I would have used the straight black handles for elegance. But that's just me. The knife and fork seems too whimsical for this piece. Honestly, I'm not criticizing, that's just my taste. I think it's beautiful Julie! I'm so very partial to dragon/butter flies! ❤

I think the plain black handles and save the tableware handles for a different themed tray. What a lovely tray! Fabulous detail! I'm new to resin (primarily a polymer clay artist) so I'm afraid i have no answers regarding the honeycomb effect. I'm still just doing small UV resin pieces and doming polymer clay projects. I can see it would benefit me to get a leveling table though. I'm learning so much from you and i thank you!🥰✌️

Danial Cooper calls them fish eyes. 46:12. Tray looks amazing!!! Everything looks 3-D and the silver looks like sparkling diamonds!!! 😍🤩😍

I was thinking”I hope she has copper handles!” but the silver and black were nice, too. Someone has suggested making handle molds so that you could make your handles any color you liked.

That is beautiful! I have a table mold that I’m planning to make a summer scene. Butterflies, flowers, bumble bees, trees with leaves. Etc. I hope it comes out as pretty as what you did.

Hi Julie, it truly came out gorgeous! I'm so glad you used the knife & fork handles, they are so cute. I wanted to remind you that while placing the handles on. You noticed that the knife had a dot of resin on it & you had wiped it off with a baby wipe. I was wondering if that was all you needed to do to the fork? They might have a coating on them from the factory. So, maybe just wiping it with the baby wipe cleaned it? Thanks so much for sharing this technique with us. It was a lot of fun. ❤

It's gorgeous Julie - best topcoat 1:1 I've found is Stonecoat Artcoat, it is also heat resistant - it has never let me down.

Yes, sell the mold. I have used resin on canvas with fish eyes. Crazy glass lady reviews brands of resin and fish eyes on canvas. I made resin frogs and top coated with Let's Resin hard uv and it left fish eyes. Maybe it is the resin?
