That won’t threaten a magnet much. I think it would be easier to start with that new Floorplan and build a new car around it. 😂 . You can’t argue this boy likes a challenge. This looks well produced and I look forward to following the journey. Good luck fella. 👍🤞
Brave man. I had a Mk2 in early 90's. Loved it. Was only a 1300 but it was entertaining- especially in snow. Would love another. Enjoyed watching your methodical approach to this shell.
Good luck Dan, anything possible If you have the passion, just got an SA import myself and fully stripped, in the process of doing a dry fit with st170/Rx8 box, will watch yours along the way 👍
Fair play to you to restore the escort your brave hope you're good with a mig welder as you need to be as all old fords rot I've done plenty of fords over 25 years of welding experience keep the videos coming be interesting I would make a jig up so you can turn the car over to do all the prep work and welding good luck was a good price for it as they are not cheap to get but you need a Capri for other parts don't matter wat the body is like engine gearbox front struts back axle things like that to use on the escort just a idea
Cracking intro video, editing and video skills on point! Wish I’d done this with my build 10+ years ago! Just ems uk rushing around the garage. Can see this channel going places
This looks like so much work, respect you're even considering getting this back to life. I'm subbed and following the progress! Besides the e30 i really like these cars. Reminds me of the old rally days, good luck!
I travelled round Australia in a 1976 Ford Escort in 1996. I was working as a mechanic in Sydney. It was rust free and I paid $750 AU dollars for it. I cannot fathom why anyone would spend £3000 on a basket case of a car ,that when finished , even to as new condition,is an un-inspiring car to drive. This fascination with mk 1 and mk2 escorts is staggering . All I can say is well sold that man. I’ll carry on with my mk2 Jag that I paid £1500 for.
I admire you taken on this project, panels will cost around 10 k , all I can see that's still good is the roof skin, your property best just buying one of them kit's and starting from scratch, save you load of time and energy cutting up that old thing, but good luck, I'll be tuning in
i am so jealous of you guys doing mk1 and mk 2 escort resto's... i used to have a fantastic mk1 escort it was in mint condition 1 owner car and it was stolen allmost 30 years ago now and was never found.. i have not been able to buy another and they are just getting more expensive and rare to find an unmolested one.
We Have A Ford car event starting on the 28th of this month. 11-3 AT Hartwell Ford grimsby Lincolnshire. No booking required. All Ford'S Welcome. Ford'S Only event.
Look forward to seeing this restored, will it be stock or modified? amazing how much old escorts are worth now, i paid £60 for a running and driving 1.1L 2 door back in 1993 when i was a teenager, didn't have mot and i never got it on the road
You might want to be aware that most of the fixings on a MK2 are not metric but unc/unf. The thread is similar but not right. I know this from my own MK2.
Your video just popped up as a recommended, think “Ai” got something right for once. Have subscribed to watch the progress on this car. What are your plans, are you going to replicate a rally car or keep as original?
@@DWVehicleFab morning and that’s great to hear. I think there’s room for both types of restorations but I love to see original restorations. I’m old enough to remember these new which is probably why I like to see originals. Good luck with your project
Great to hear that you enjoyed the first video, that’s put a smile on my face. I’m actually an Estate Agent by career(boo hiss) but not currently in that industry.
Excellent, yours is as about as bad as my MK1 was when I started, just subbed, I hope your channel takes off mate. I'll be watching this with interest.
