That is a beautiful car. Our mom owned one. It was a 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. My sister & I drove it when we 1st started driving. This really took me back. Brought back some really great memories. Thank you for sharing.❤
WHAT A GREAT COLOR FOR THIS MODEL. THERE'S A REASON THIS WAS THE MOST POPULAR CAR IN AMERICA IN 76-77 .THE LAST REAL PERSONAL LUXURY CAR .LOVE THESE . CLASSY SEXY . A PERFECT CAR FOR THE TIMES .
1976 this was the best selling car in the US. Hard to believe so few survived! I think I see more Chevettes and Pintos than these on the road. It is beautiful and they were low power but drove like a dream. A repaint is always a negative no matter how well done sadly...but on this car, it may not be too big of a deal. The panel behind the window in front of the trunk was prone to paint popping off. My neighbor had one. It had the V6 and had 150k in 1981....must have been a good one!
My first car, 76 Olds Cutlass Supreme sedan. Bought it in ‘82. I kept it for 11 years and 160K miles. Although I did have to buy a long block and tranny rebuild during that time. If I didn’t already have too many cars (4), this one would be a blast to own. 👍
Thank you for sharing this cutlass... my dad bought 1977 Cutlass Salon new that had the same color interior... his spare was never used.... I wish I still had it...thanks for the memories
Sweeeet! My dad bought a similar car for me there. That is a gem! My cutlass had 76,000 original miles so your mileage is better! Dual exhaust! I miss that car! I could easily fit ten of my friends in there! Drove like a charm! Everyone wanted to buy it C from me!
I owned a '76 Cutlass, white with red trim, and I owned a '77 Cutlass , burnt orange with a tan landau top with tan interior. That was a striking color on that model. That silver really shines!
That is a great color. A friend owned a cinnamon brown 76 ..She told me @ the mall she got into her Brn. Cutlass when it wouldn't start realized it wasn't her car. She quickly went to her car once inside it she realized she had left her purse in the other cutlass. It was a popular car.
I'm a GM man. I've had Olds, Pontiacs, and Buicks. I like cars of that era because the underside has mufflers. You don't have to worry about converter thieves.
wow, i had a 1974 blue cutlass supreme, love that car, i had it for 7 years until i traded it in, looking back i wish i would had kept the car a while longer ,i am 66 yrs old now, still the best car i ever purchase

I owned this same vehicle in a gold tone. The interior acoustics were incredible. Bought it used (2 years old) for $2500. Lasted me over 190K miles. Nice!
@@vicb.2708 Yes, I did have the landau roof. Auto Repairs for Dummies and Craftsman tools helped me maintain that beauty -- from gapping points to changing tie rods to wheel bearing packings. I did it all. It was great!
@@paulelliott7373 I lived in Florida for almost half my years...that climate is terrible on vinyl roofs, if not protected. Had a 71 Pontiac GP Model J, bought used. The rear window eventually fell out. 😜
My Dad past away over 30 years ago this was the last car he was driving I think it was a 77 though it was a dark crimson red looking paint job I loved that car so much! Miss you Dad!
My parents had a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (2nd family car) that I cleaned, washed, and waxed about every other month as a teenager. As I recall, it was a very smooth ride. How-ev-er, aside from seatbelts, it had "zero" safety features, which is why I eventually convinced my mother, now widowed, to sell it and buy something newer. So..., in 2002, at age 69, she bought a 2001 Toyota Camry. She still has the Camry, and... that car has less than 80,000 miles on it. So, two great cars.
GM had a really bad problem with their paint in the 70's, especially silver and red maroon colors. They would fade in a few years time. Happened to my silver 77 Monte Carlo.
That car is beautiful. I owned a Fire-Engine Red one like that. I'd want to see the museum, but I'd likely require medical attention seeing the awesome vehicles there.
I had a 73 Cutlass Supreme in sky blue exterior with a white interior. 350 cu. With an automatic turbo hydromatic. I also had a 82 Cutlass Supreme with the silver exterior & blue plush interior. Both had matching rally rim wheels. I miss having both Cutlasses . the 73 was a 4 barrel carburetor. I could pass anything but a gas station. So this Cutlass Supreme is like a combination of my 2 .
My mom had this exact same car her senior year of high school, and apparently traded it in towards a brand new Datsun a few years later and regretted doing so.
I have to agree it is abt 10k to high. As the car is abt 46 yrs old and most of the car appears original. However things will wear out in a few and then you have to have it done over.
I understand your asking price . The next potential owner will bargain it down . Every new owner has to put some more in it. Street term, " Seed money." If it was a NEW car, you just gas and go. 😂😂
God and think I had two of them back in the '70s. If I'd only know what they'd be worth! Edit: this car is pretty stripped. It doesn't even have rear defroster lines....
I understand the current market but I’m still of the frame of mind that this car is worth $2500..I still can’t wrap my head around these current prices for these cars that were considered shit boxes as far back as I can remember..1989..when I bought them off trade as a young salesman at an Oldsmobile dealership for under $500. And even then we’re one issue after another. Don’t get me wrong..I do feel nostalgic for them but really, they are not nice cars.
I worked at my uncle's buy-here pay-here lot in the early 90's. I remember him buying these for $500-1000 at the auctions. I should've bought every one of them and put them away
The woman in the movie The movie The Omen 2 and the car stalled out and she got out of the car and the Ravens attacked her and then she got hit by the truck. It was a tan Brown 1976 Cutlass.
I have a feeling like most used car dealers youre going to feel some pain in the classic car market especially on the underwhelming stuff like these. Its a 10000$ car at best. Nobody is gonna buy that as an investment.
I had a 77 Olds Cutlass Supreme fully loaded t-tops black on black AM/FM cassette electric antenna the black holes rally rims air conditioning cruise control tilt wheel and brand new they were in the low twenties of mid-20s when they were brand new beautiful car ran like a dream Florida Highway and that 350 cubic inch motor plenty of plenty plenty power
First. I have always loved the Cutlass Supreme. I’m 60 yrs old . But one thing you mentioned. Price ? They were about $ 7,000 new . Maybe. My dad retired from GM . Not sure where you got $20,000 . None of this matters . We both love the car .
@@Trev0r98 The market for that generation Cutlass is small. It's not a popular car. Plus it's not original paint. I've been in the classic car market for 30 years and I have never seen one of these cars fetch more than 20k. Just not a popular model. Don't see it getting anywhere near 30k. Haggerty value for one in concourse (immaculate) condition is $20k. Excellent is $14k which is a lot closer to this one.
Hi Ho silver Lone ranger and tonto car 🤟 from the batcave gourgeus olds, 🦇🦇USA thanks Jay grams president of volo auto museum from tom your friend always 🤩 🤩
Still a complete POS compared to ANY modern car. Weighed over 3800 lbs. with only 180 HP. Heavy, slow, poor handling and not exactly pretty. Huge front and rear overhangs. Just a perfect example of Detroit's worst years. You'd hafta be outta your mind to pay a premium price for this.
Nice cars but…Not a fan of these videos - u dont talk about price or more engine details… you dont show the car startup or test drive …. Could be better…. “Lets go for a spin” but only you goes for the spin. Dissapointing 👎🏻
At 8:44 in the video the vehicle is shown running & driving. At 8:01 he is going over the engine, yes it is kinda short on this vehicle because there wasn't too much to go into detail over.
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales again….you don’t show the vehicle being started - how do i know if they had to jump started…. Push it or what…I only see it running; you dont show the vehicle being driven with someone on board
I can tell you that this vehicle didn't need a jump start or push. If you contact sales, we can get you a video of it starting. Are you saying that isn't a person in the drivers seat backing it out & driving away? We don't start it in these videos because the space between the turntable and garage door isn't the most presentable. And we don't start them anymore while spinning because we don't want the exhaust filling the room.
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales dude......are you for real ? Did you read between the lines? How come there isnt a person filming the car being driven sitting on the passengers seat..........you know....see the car running and going down the road ? Your company really needs to revisit how these videos are done, allot of gray areas. That is all im saying.
