1976 Porsche 934 Turbo RSR Sound - Warm Up, Accelerations & HUGE Flames!!

During an Historic racing weekend at Monza circuit, I had the opportunity to film this very rare original 1976 Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. Using the 930 as a basis, the 934 RSR was a racing version of the Porsche 911 Turbo prepared to FIA Group 4 rules. This particular version is powered by a 3.0 litre turbo flat-six engine delivering around 485bhp and 590nm of torque. Enjoy the video!

I don't see how all the car reviewers say turbos kill engine noise. With the right exhaust it can add to the drama

because turbos dampen sound. an N/A car will be twice as loud if both have straight piping for exhausts.

I can run my 2.7t biturbo with straight pipes, enjoy the sound and performance and not be bothered by the cops, whats the problem haha

+Matthew Delia I haven't seen an RPM gauge in that exact config, but it's probably to indicate when the driver should upshift (here when the needle is no longer visible). However it is common in older race cars to turn the RPM gauge so when the needle is above 4000 rpm or something, the needle is most visible for the driver. Considering when you are racing you shouldn't go much below 4000 rpm it's actually a very intuitive position for the gauge

Pretty Cool car. My all time fav is the '75 500hp+ 2.1 litre RSR. The Germans have always been among the best in squeezing enormous horsepower out of a small displacement engine.

Don't think a Ferrari would fit me. A Lambo is a bit flashy for my taste. BMW is a love hate thing. Mercedes stopped interesting me in the early 2000's. Porsche makes me thirst. If I ever find it in my budget to get a European sports car.... It will be a clapped out E36 but I wish for a Porsche lol.

Sasha The little pipe one the left side is an external wastegate for the turbocharger. It avoids overboosting the engine

Sasha just like Georg said, and if you look at the exhaust of an F40, you will see 3 pipes, the one in the middle is the open wastegate :)
