@coogan8825 His contract ended after 77. And they wanted to win playoff games and George Allen just couldn't do that for the previous few seasons. He took the Rams job as head coach but was fired before the season started in 78. Then went on to be an analyst and coached in the USFL in the 80s.

@coogan8825 Buffalo signed Knox to a big deal and he turned them around before taking the Seattle job and turning them around. But Knox just couldn't quite get past the conference championship round.
