Davey Johnson was at the tail end of his MLB playing career by that time. Of course, he would go on to become the manager of the New York Mets in 1984 (and winning a World Series with them two years later in 1986).
I went to this game it was so loud when Cey hit the grand slam the crowd could be heard from Chinatown as they said on the news that night I just remember looking up and watching Luzinski going back to the wall and the stadium going crazy too bad the Phils went on to win but they recovered from that slam and deserved to win that game I also went to game 5 of the World Series that year the Dodgers won that game but lost game 6 and the series to the Yankees.
I couldn’t see the series, because I had to do homework. How did you feel just being able to not only be at a championship, but a World Series. I have yet to be in either.
