When did they stop giving the indirect free kicks in the box? I know they still can, but when I watch many of these older matches, you see more given for innocuous fouls that aren’t goal scoring opportunities, but would be penalties today. I wish they would return to this interpretation of the law, it would probably take away some of the embellishments we see today.
@@dlamiss Don't forget a lot of the Ipswich player that won the first division had seen better days. Also, the England 66 final team was better than a lot of other finalists in the world cup. Take the 2022 finalists for example.
Thats a fair comment but Ramsey built the Ipswich side that became champions in 62 so for the original comment to say he was the luckiest manager ever is wrong. Look at the Poland game had he been lucky England would have scored 6 that night
@@dlamiss Also at that time we didn't know how good a team Poland was - 3rd at 74 world cup - and not only was their striker Lubanski unfit for this game his injury was so bad he missed the world cup too.
