Little did I know the value these 70’s cars would bring. I had a 73 Malibu. They were cheap and plentiful back then. Saw these all over in the day. Wish I had one now.
Yes me too I had a 73 that I cloned to be a ss chevelle w all the goodies the ss had I found a real Ss that was a rust bucket and used all the badges mirrors swivel bucket seats console factory tach and gauge cluster all that and it was very close to a real ss no one knew unless they really knew Chevy's small block 400 all fresh and running great small cam great exhaust all the way out the back I wrecked it tho too bad I'd love to still have it as you said
Sharp, I absolutely love subtle and understated earth tones on American classics. I like old school glasspacks but without headers and I personally wouldn't have cut them by the rear end.
You guys should show footage of the outside of your vehicles while moving down the road. That would be a great addition and nice to see. I owned 2 of these back in the day.
My grandfather bought a 77 malibu classic new off the lot and drove it till 2006,, his was this same color green and green interior bench seat with a 305. Seeing this car brought back alot of great memories for me thank you for that
I agree with you - how many ‘66 to ‘72 Chevelle’s do you need to see before they’re kind of boring? If I’m at a car show, I would be MUCH more drawn to this one just because you simply don’t see them around anymore!
Really cool car I personally love the colonade cars, I’ve had 3 of the 73-77 Malibu’s and 3 of the Monte Carol’s and a 74 Grand Am and 74 lemans. That thing is really nice but it’s not a survivor when it’s been repainted and other stuff restored or rebuilt, like a built motor but still a really cool car. These cars are extremely overlooked by people, and you can do just as much with these cars as much as the earlier ones.
I had a 1977 midnight blue one with a medium blue landau vinyl top like that one. Went anywhere in the winter with Mohawk winter treads on it. Great cars!
I owned my uncles 1977 Malibu with 90,000 miles 1984-1986. My first car. But it was deeply flawed for its time and the norm. It was a 2 door car with a 350, 2 barrel carburetor, had hubcaps instead of sport wheels, rips in the drivers seat; a faded back panel behind the back seat, and of course, a cracked dashboard, a typical 70’s GM car if you lived in a hot climate like Texas. Oh, and it was silver when I got it. Paint job was like sandpaper and rusty like most GM paint jobs with metallic colors in the 1970’s. I got a paint job with red pinstripes across it. Got a glass pack muffler with a single exhaust pipe and didn’t remove the catalytic converter to make it sound like a robust muscle car. And a USA 1 thing pasted above the drivers windshield, forgot what those things were called. I’m so old! Bottom line, all Chevelle’s and Malibu’s that were 1973-1977 models were totally forgotten. They were past the muscle car era and Gen X’er high schoolers in the 1980’s that owned them didn’t drive cool cars.
I had a 77. Straight 6, no AC (the "flip" from heat to defrost was non-vaccum. Just mechanical.) That was a real car. Here in Toledo sub zero in the morning before sunrise that baby would come to life, the entire car would shake, determined to come to life for 15 seconds. And then a smooth hum. I want another. Good Luck,, right. But what a car. 60s all the way around, handled flat like a road racer. Would bark those rear tires, loaded with 5 of us friends in it, leaving from a stop.
Thought they were 305..my 77 was put all police suspension on it biggest sway bars could get police rear Sway and ladder bar front pigtail springs progressive..cornered like a go cart ...flat and used action wagon rims..ten inch wide
Yes I caught that too lol 305 was Chevy and they were great engines had many many of them over the years not real power houses but got the job done just find and would easily burn up tires as well w the low end torque that they had they ran out of steam on the top end due to very small valves and head design but thats what made them idiot proof they would not rev high enough to blow up due to again the bad small head design they had great engines tho for all around drivability and low end torque
Love those crager mags. I bought one that year model in ‘82. Went to pick up my girlfriend and she came out said she is not getting in a pink car, I said it was Champagne. Long story short took it back and got my second choice, Monte Carlo, black
Yeah I'm not a fan of the exhaust either especially not going all the way out the back if it did those mufflers may not be so bad thats what I would do send it out the back for the potential customer then you won't hear it as much it will sound really good I bet .. But other than that and the a/c its a gorgeous car in mint condition w out a doubt nice find fellas
Nobody wanted these back in the day because everyone wanted the '60s Camaros but now you can't find a '67-'69 Camaro for less then an arm or a leg or 2 ...
I never understood why upper end models of most all vehicles never had a clock as standard. How much could a clock cost back then. Looks so awful it's just a blank hole in the instrument panel😮
@@frederickmcmillian9562 if it was a 73 laguna SS it was a chevelle, other than that they were considered low hp chevelle malibu's. The 73 Baldwin Motion chevelle was the last real chevelle in my book anyways.
