I met Lindsay Wagner today following an event in Burbank. She was so humble, kind and centered. She took time to speak with me for a few minutes and it was a genuine pleasure. Such a treat. And she still looks great at 74!

She was candid, warm and very friendly at the Supanova sci fi and fantasy convention in Sydney, Australia on Sun 23rd June 2024. She's great!! And she just turned 75 the day before on 22 June, but in America, due to the time difference, it was on Sunday Sydney time!! She said it was her birthday present to herself to travel to Australia 🎂🤩

Lindsay Wagner is one the biggest IT girls in TV history. She was always brilliant. Put it this way. If you weren’t around in those days, she was iconic, and still is.
I am so glad she won the Emmy. That 2 part episode where Jaime went through a terrible nightmare by her double Lisa Galloway really stand out in my mind. An unforgettable episode where Jaime won the respect of Miss.Galloway.
Lindsay Wagner did star in one of the best movies of all time....The Paper Chase. I do not think anyone else ever won an Emmy for being a super hero. She is a great actress.
Amazing! Lyndsay Wagner really deserved winning the Emmy. Just see her performance and acting in the episodes of “Doomsday is Tomorrow” and “Deadly Ringer” in the second season of the, Bionic Woman. My favorite television series of all time, The Bionic Woman. You gotta love Lyndsay Wagner.
Lindsay Wagner along with writer/producer Kenneth Johnson elevated the character of Jaime Sommers and the show "The Bionic Woman" into a stratosphere that it likely would not have achieved were it not for their immeasurable talent. She battled Fembots, Bigfoot, Aliens, Doomsday Devices, sentient meteorites, stolen identity, false imprisonment, Bionic rejection, memory loss and on screen death to get here. There is no doubt, she earned and deserved this Emmy.

Lindsay Wagner was my idol, growing up, and who didn't want to look & be like her! One of the best Gifts I ever got was the bionic woman, doll, and I cherished that doll, like no other. Love you always, Lindsey, and I wish you'd come back to acting. She's in her 70s now, and she still is just as beautiful, naturally.🌟🥰🎁💜
I'm as a big fan...Got both series DVD when they finally came out and I got both bionic dolls! I met Lindsey around 10 years ago (briefly) I told her I used watch Bionic woman in Spanish and to my surprise she responded to me in Spanish fluently, She was so nice!!
Man i can’t think of another character in television where you can’t separate the actor from the character. She will always be Jaime Sommers and she absolutely deserved this Emmy as well as a 2nd Emmy for Doomsday is Tomorrow.

Always loved her acting, she could have been a big movie star.Yet she had principles abd turned dowm a lot of offers over time.She even dictated how she wanted Jaime Sommers to be.
A lot of people galked when Lindsey won the best actress Emmy for "The Bionic woman" because it was such a light weight series. The following year Sada won. If Kate Jackson had won it would have been career changing. "Charlie's angels" was written with her in mind to star in. The other two were mostly unknowns. Farrah had the poster which was selling million and was hired probably because of her looks? Likewise with Jacklyn Smith who was even more unknown then Farrah. The first season was fantastic! After that it was not the same. Angie also deserved to win though. It did not stop her from getting roles however. She was the hottest woman in her time! Lindsey winning was an enormous jolt to her career. She got a lot of work after the series ended with the Emmy added to her resume. A handful of episode of "The bionic woman" were outstanding despite the absurdity of the premise. That was because of the fine actress that Lindsey Wagner is! Congrads!
@@SnowDaulphin She may have had she not done "The bionic woman". We will never know. She could have easily been in the many role Meryl Streep was cast in early in her career like "Kramer vs Kramer". Kate Jackson was offered the role but she was in a contract at the time with "Charlie's angels" and Spelling would not let her do the film due to the contract with the show. A year Jackson quit "Charlie's angels" when her contract came up for renewal. A TV series is great ut once your in it other project could come up ad you can't do them . Had Jackson done "Kramer vs Kramer" she may have been on her way to a successful film career like what happened to Meryl Streep.
As The Bionic Woman was a sci-fi show, at the time, some did view it as "light weight". However, Lindsay's acting did not go unnoticed, so she became the first actor or actress to win a lead Emmy award for a sci-fi series.
When they negotiated her contract for season 2 she opted out of the extra money they wanted to give her and asked for more control over the development and consistency of her character... By which I mean she took less cash so that she could play Jaime Somers as an actual person instead of going all superhero. I didn't know this when I originally watched the series but was not all that surprised when I did find out. Lindsay Wagner was and is a real class act.
If you were ranking those nominees purely on talent (as opposed to what episode they submitted to the judges), Sada Thompson would be first, and Lindsay Wagner, dead last. My personal favorites were Kate Jackson and Angie Dickinson .
When The Bionic Woman was first airing Lindsay Wagner seemed like an "old" adult to me, but seeing this footage now at time when anyone under 30 is a kid through my eyes, she's so dang young.
Probably the biggest surprise ever in this category up against major veteran actresses. The reel she submitted playing twins placed her at more of an advantage. Voters think you are stretching.
@@Light-Shift stay in your lane. If you look at her competition, it WAS a surprise victory. TBW was always considered lightweight entertainment. Nothing against Lindsay, she just put together the right reel. Obviously you lack the perception and depth to understand how the Emmys work. And learn to spell perception and construct a sentence while you’re at it.
I met Lindsay Wagner in Mar del Plata, on January 31, 1982. Actually we met twice: the first time we talked for a while and I imitated many actors a(Roger Moore, Brando, Lee Majors) and during the same day we met again in another bar where she was eating a sandwich. We kept talking during an hour and she asked me to impersonate The six million dollar man again inside that bar, with around 50 people outside looking through the glassed doors and windows. She gave me a special photography from her and gave me a beautiful kiss. Her last sentence staring at me in a her special way and said o me a beautiful wish for my life and career. I wonder if she remembers that day, because everything was crazy and miraculous. I cannot believe that that was 42 years ago now. I was young moviegoer always dreaming to become and actor and filmmaker, which was very difficult since I was born in Argentina and passionate about American Movie History. Also we talked a lot about Robert Wise, who I ´ve already met and talked when I was 15, on my the first time (the I met him two more times years later). Robert Wise directed her in 'Two people', with Peter Fonda, so she felt so surprised by my anecdote that she kept talking to me about him during a while. Someday, the complete anecdote will appear in one of my books. I´m sure she is still pretty and lovely than that unforgettable evening in Mar del Plata. It would magical to meet her again. Just watched the deadly ringer episodes earlier, Lindsay so deserved this Emmy! Abc was so foolish to cancel the show & a shame it didnt last longer on NBC
Kate Jackson should have won. She was by far the best actress. Charismatic, very talented, invented the most iconic show of the 70s and owned the screen.
Nah. I admit she was the best of the Charlie's Angels actresses but Michael Learned as the Mom on the Waltons was amazing and so was Lindsay Wagner as Jamie on the Bionic Woman. I watched all three shows as a child of the 70's and honestly Michael Learned from the Waltons was the best actress of the three.
No doubt! Kate Jackson was the best actress! Landed the role in Kramer vs. Kramer but was forced to turn it down by the producers. Missed an Oscar nom by only one vote for Making Love. A testament to her amazing acting skills!
