My dad had this exact one. I changed his clutch. 3 times. He was a tractor trailer driver. With his double clutching. So. I always fixed it. He drove it as a daily driver. Til he passed away. But he loved it. 😊

A 77? What happened to it?

Love this little camper. I'm eyeballing one on the marketplace site right now. Have you done a video giving the interior dimensions? If not can you give me a general idea in your response please. Thanks and good luck

That’s great! Nice ones are getting hard to find. I’ve converted mine to a 4x4. Which dimensions are you looking for?

@@azorianification Thanks for the quick response. I would like to know the campers dimensions. Side to side, back to front without the popup popped. I have to go back and catch up on your Earlier videos.

Thank you for your video. I found one of these for sale on FB Marketplace. People never take good pictures. I couldn't piece together the lay out. There is a note in the advertisement that the fuel pump is out! As you said, it must be universal. Now I want it more that before!

Most of these have a fuel pump in the tank. Is the layout similar to mine?

RE: Fuel Pump Issues. No idea if you've addressed this yet or not (I see video was posted a month ago) but the two easiest solutions would be: 1. Add an aftermarket in-line pump near the tank & wire it in using the Black/Red wire for power & mounting (grounding) the pump to the frame. Or... 2. Since that 22R has a provision for a stock style mechanical pump (looks like you have a block-off plate currently installed), install a mechanical pump. I'm pretty sure I know why your OEM-style in-tank electric pumps keep failing. I freeze-framed your video @ 4:41 & see that the fuel pump resistor has been eliminated, & that you have the fuel pump resistor connector "jumpered" with a jumper wire. That's what is causing the pumps to burn up on you. I will explain. The stock-style electric pump was not designed to continually run at constant full battery voltage. The Fuel Pump Resistor lowered the full battery voltage to about 9 volts whenever the engine was running. This was done to extend fuel pump life & to make the pump run quieter. Power is supplied from the "RUN" circuit from the ignition switch (Black/Yellow wire at resistor connector). The pump does get full battery voltage when cranking the engine via the "START" circuit from the ignition switch, but *only* when cranking. Original style fuel pump resistors are no longer available from Toyota, but I do have an easy mod to make the stock/OEM in-tank style pump work correctly. You just need to mount a 1.4 Ohm ignition ballast resistor to that remaining metal plate on the passenger side inner fender. Then make up two wires (14-16 gauge recommended), with 1/4" spade crimp connectors, female on one end, male on the other. Female ends go to the ballast resistor, male ends go into the original fuel pump resistor connector. Recommended resistors to use are either Standard Motor Parts RU4 or Autozone/Duralast CR107. Just wanted to try & solve your pump dying mystery, & put this info out there for anyone else that might need it.

You've helped me in the past on the yota forums! You were a big help in getting the initial problems resolved when I first got this camper. I'd have to double check but the resistor is under that black bracket around that time stamp. This is VERY good advice for anyone else having a similar problem. Could you just throw in a fuel pump that is rated for 12V and eliminate the resistor?
@The13thSword
@The13thSword Год назад
@@azorianification I happy any of my info or input helped you out. I just didn't see the resistor on the first view & still don't after my own double check. Do you have it under the bracket? Is that what that zip-tie is doing there? Hard to tell but I'll certainly take your word that it's there. Is it the original & have you heat tested it to see if it's still in tolerance? Sometimes the original resistors get fatigued over time & develop higher resistance, choking off voltage to the pump, & possibly making it seem like the pump died. Yes you can use an aftermarket fuel pump rated for 12 volts & eliminate the resistor, but with conditions for this application. It should be rated for 4-7 or 5-8 PSI fuel pressure, 20 GPH (gallons per hour) *minimum* flow rate (35 would be better), and always be mounted as near to the tank as possible. Electric fuel pumps works best that way, with a short "draw" distance from the tank, and a longer "push" distance to the engine. And as long as it's specs don't specify needing a resistor, it will work fine. Most aftermarket pumps don't need the resistor. As an example this one: www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_pumps_regulators_and_filters/fuel_pumps/carbureted_fuel_pumps/carbureted_electric_fuel_pumps/parts/12S

When I did some research on the Celica info. From what I heard almost every piece of the 20r is faster. I think maybe the 22r block was better but almost all of the rest of it from 20r leads to higher horse power. That would make 22r a lot cheaper tho if that's the case & infinite number of parts but I managed to get my 20r for $100 + what it cost to go get but was pretty close to me population wise. Was sitting in a field for 15 yrs min. Same as my 74' Celica. Actually 23 years for sure on that one. Surprisingly not too bad yet but I haven't looked at the bottom end yet. Cylinder walls are not pitted after soaking in vinegar, had rusty colored dirt in them & mud dobber debris. Black oil in bottom end too which I think is a good sign for the crank.

Does it leak around the top front windows or the pop up? Someone I know has one that leaks like crazy and he has no clue as to how to seal it up.
@azorianification
@azorianification Год назад
Are they sure it’s from the windows? I’d also pop the top and check the hardware that bolts down the lift arms. The sealant around the hardware on the top and under the top may fail over time and will need to be addressed.
