Wonderful!! I like that its not lifted super high like a monster truck, but it has perfect sized tires for a 4x4. I think people over do it with the lift and giant tires.. This truck has a perfect look, made for driving in the street or camping and with a Great look.
I have that same truck. Mine is an early 78 F-250 with round headlights, same color (candy apple red), factory 4WD, C-6 and married 205, even the same late model rims. It's funny how Ford made these early CC trucks, custom building the cabs in Windsor CA. I still have the factory interior with the secondary in-cab tank, and it all works. When the 400M crankshaft broke I swapped to a 460 with L&L fenderwell headers. I stretched the frame to a long bed with a donor truck. Also changed the rear axle to a 1978 Dana 70 powr-lok with single wheels from an F-350. I get asked all the time to sell it, but I have too much of my life invested. I should have bought as many CC's as I could 20 years ago when they were dirt cheap. They were the longest lasting trucks that Ford made (IMO).
Sounds pretty awesome… I do have a couple hang ups though. Idk what you’re calling a 400m but I assure you there is no suck engine. There are 351M engines and 400’s, it’s either one or the other. Also, Your truck being an early 78 wouldn’t be the reason it has round headlights, it being a 78 F250 Custom “Custom Trim Level” is why it has round lights, all the other trim levels had square lights no matter when the 78 model was built. …. I’ve never been a short bed guy but I’d kill to have a 76-79 CC in good shape like this, so I can see why people would constantly hound you over your Long Bed, and really I can’t blame them. In high school I had a 76 HiBoy and I grew up Tugging, Sled Pulling, Mud bogging, running uphill drags and all that fun stuff and man that 76 was the best Tug Truck I’ve ever had but my uncle had a 1970 CrewCab that he had put a step side bed on off of a ‘51 International “K model I think”, and that truck would do it all and seemed to be the best at whatever he was doing with it at the time. Has a 428 now but back then it had a 427 that was twice the engine that the 428 is. I’ve always loved that truck and I’m pretty sure that’s why my heart is bleeding for one now. And you’re right, if someone had bought all they could find 25 years or so ago they would be able to retire right now…
Fabulous looking truck i have a white f250 crew cab that i would like to restore it in this style love the way your looks and sounds perfect choice of wheels and rims
