This boat had been sitting inside a warehouse in Wasilla,Alaska since 1998 for 25 years before I got it in August 2023. 75,000 original miles and original owner and a time capsule.
I had a 77 about 25 years ago and the speedometer on those are so cool.I actually like the dash set up better those years better, mine has the more elegant clock style but um not complaining.
That 🐈 has great taste! 👍 Once bought a 78 TOWN COUPE in same color with tan rear vinyl top. Never should have let it go. Subsequently had 89 TOWN CAR Signature and currently have beautiful low mileage 2007 TOWN CAR Signature Limited. This one will literally take me to my grave. Last gasp of the GREAT AMERICAN Luxury sedans! 😎
Luv it. All the best with it.👍 My buddy had a 4-door 1977 in green with green leather interior. Real leather interior unlike today's cars that only have the so called leather "seating area" with the back and sides of the seats being vinyl. I don't remember if his was the Continental or Towne Car but it did have the 460 under the hood.
These vehicles can achieve mileages in the millions without any problems. Electric cars still have to prove this. Gasoline was cheap back then, or cheaper than electricity is today. And electricity is also becoming more expensive
I could have bought one very similar to this interior was in very good condition ran excellent but I didn’t buy it. $400 from a wholesaler I knew mid-nineties. Just to have it and park it only airport runs or just a 10 mile drive to keep part’s moving. Not me I stayed with the wrong women too.
Thats one description that is so played out and stupid. I hated when people called big cars boats in the 70s and 80s and I find it even more unoriginal today.
@jakereal3604 Dude that car is humongous, it's the literal definition of a boat, not an actual one but it be considered one if it wasn't on asphalt. You cannot tell me that that car isn't fucking huge.
OMG!! I bought my first car at 21 and it was a 79 Lincoln Towncar Continental, same color, exact same interior! Only difference was mine had the moon roof and solid back panels, no oval windows. All original, cb radio included! Best $500 I ever spent!! Loved that thing! Only issue I had was brakes! Even my friend's tire shop dad couldn't figure out what was wrong with em! Usually just smashed the pedal 2 the floor and eased off the road to avoid rear ending others! Also fell asleep and scraped a guard rail of a bridge ... ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, like yours (mine was a little worse, scraped the door, bent the handle back a little, then was off it and back on the road!)! Great memories, other than the obvious, over all!!
you drove this big car and people are saying to me that I shouldnt buy a E class because it is too big and not a car for a young driver, that I should buy something small and economical the same people who bought big cars for a first car or people who are just jealous of me having a good car. Screw small european eco cars I wanna drive and own boats like this, my current dream is 90s DeVille or Fleetwood.
@@paulparoma in europe when you get a new license at 18, you can't drive csr more powerful than 80kw/109hp, you can't drive after 23:00 to 6:00 and you can't drive alone if you're not 18. But I won't respect these laws and I don't even care about them. Also they tax you with 1000-2000 dollars if you drive car with v6/v8 because "emissions" and plus gas here is 3 times more expensive than in Us. It sucks here, my dream car was always a trans am and 95 fleetwood and I hope that I would move to US and achieve that dream.
@@antiteroristickejedinicepo4830 Stupid Europe is stuck in the past and has some ridiculous rules. You still have to learn to shift gears when learning to drive. What a waste of time. The results are not much better than in the US, despite the seriousness (and cost) attached to the idea of getting a driver license, plus all the stupid rules.
@@paulparoma yeah but atleast not many stupid rules for young drivers like in Europe. I struggle driving with stick but I'll get automatic until I learn to shift good with stick.
@@paulparoma Nobody is a pretty broad statement dude. Perhaps the general population of mindless sheep do not, but I was there in '97 when I did a road trip to Alaska. In fact, I just love it when people beat their chests about how proud they are of their country, and then it turns out they have barely travelled outside their metro area let alone to any of the fifty states. Perhaps they are like Obama and Biden who don't even know how many states there are.
@@c.d.7742 Congratulations! You visited Wassila in '97! That sounds really enlightening, what with all the great cultural and historical treasures the place has to offer. Those famous writers and artists who came out of it....Puts Italy and France to shame. But I must say I like Sarah these days. I couldn't stand her then, but she's matured quite nicely ( and I don't mean physically).
