I've enhanced the 1978 Week 14 Patriots at Cowboys game. I upscaled, denoised, sharpened, and doubled the framerate with Topaz. I then used Da Vinci Resolve to adjust the contrast and to really boost the color. Looks like a master tape now! See the before/after screenshots here -- imgbox.com/g/V... -- My thanks to romelovesdan for providing me the DVD files used for this project.

I was only two years old - sleeping in a crib - somewhere in Southern New England when this game was being played. Now that I watch it as an adult, I can't imagine being a fan back then, watching a great quarterback like Steve Grogan putting a ball where it needs to be, and the receivers either not making the catches, or just fumbling the ball so much. I mean, Damn! Quarterback Steve Grogan owns a sporting good store here in Foxborough, MA. Great store.

I have no idea why one would take Ed “Too Tall” Jones’ comment about liking to play in the “big games” as meaning he didn’t go all out in other games. (Last time I checked adrenaline was a thing and “upping” your game when it counts most is not supposed to be a flaw. Also, the number of interceptions and batted balls his 6’9 frame caused was unreal, and anyone who had to play against him every year would be happy to tell you how good he was during his fine 16 year career even if he was noted voted All Pro or to the Pro Ball as often as he probably should have been.

LOL listening to the announcer's go on about Chuck Fairbanks. The Patriots had a very good team. The week before their divisional playoff game against Houston. Fairbanks announced he was leaving to go coach Colorado University where he later failed. Ownership stupidly let Fairbanks coach the playoff game and the Oilers blew out the Patriots ruining a good team.
