Your right for some reason back in the 70s and 80s the 125s and 80s could both be built to the max or straight stock flattrack racing and the 80s would blow away the 125s ! And some used to race in the 125 class with 80s and win !
@@andyheck7824 My cousin and I owned a 1980 Yamaha YZ80 "bumblebee" yellow and black from new until 1989 when we foolishly sold it. Our bike would easily keep up with and often beat larger displacement 100cc and 125cc 4-stroke enduro trail bikes. It was extremely powerful and wicked fast for a 80cc. I would like to have it back today as a old man. I would still ride it and have fun. I had many motorcycles, scooters and a ATV in my life. That Yamaha YZ80 I liked better than all of them, even my 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob and 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 I used to own.
