Please do a video on your yellow convertible sometime. That yellow on yellow is really something. In 1977 I went with my aunt when she bought a yellow on yellow on yellow Sedan DeVille from a dealer in the Detroit suburbs. I wish I could have bottled it’s new car smell.

That's a real beaut! I wonder why H&E used those Mopar rocker window switches on the rear armrests? They used a GM one under the dash to lower the top... Anyhow, H&E always did nice work on their custom order cars.
@CH67guy1
@CH67guy1 5 лет назад
Those individual rear window switches are GM parts, but not correct for the 1979 Cadillacs. These style switches made their debut in 1977 Cadillacs. I always found the design to be a bit odd. Perhaps a bit easier to use for those with long fingernails? By 1979 Cadillac returned to using the old standard switches.

Absolutely stunning. With the original roof and all which was the first thing to go on these. The perfect car for Sunday ice cream. 😆 We do not even know the true build numbers on these. 77-82, 200-300 is what is most commonly recited. H&E didn't really keep track of these as they were private builds "made to order". For those wondering about the engine; well it is obviously not the diesel, so that can only leave the 7.0 (425) "torquey fellow" as my dad would refer to them. There was also a 4 door Deville which was converted by a competitor coachbuilder. Those were called *Paris* There used to be one out on display curbside here on South Beach's Ocean Drive, in front of The Parisian Hotel. Do not know what became of it.

I don't know if you saw it but the RU-vid creator, "oneownercarguy" has a late 70's Deville El Camino on his channel right now. Thought he used the name "Paris" in his commentary. Do you know anything about those "truck like" Cadillacs? Factory?
@LynxStarAuto
@LynxStarAuto 5 лет назад
Kenneth A Cadillac Mirage. That was another custom made to order car. Don't recall who the coach works company was. It was a custom conversion, and also came with a removeable top like a camper. A plethora of Cadillacs have been the starting point of custom fabrication by many coach workers. There was also an "Eldo-mino" which was an Eldorado fwd, converted into a pickup truck as well. Back in the 70's and early 80's custom coach works was a big deal.

I remember in 1979 Potampkin Cadillac, in Manhattan NYC, had a red one in the showroom. It had a sticker price of $45,000, an enormous amount of money in 1979. My father owned a limo service, and in 1979 he bought 2 from Potampkin, and I remember thinking that convertible was almost as much as the 2 limos my father bought combined. Except for that one in the showroom, I never saw any others, but I will never forget that sticker price.

As a '79 Cadillac lover this is a treat. It was modified by the same people who make hearses and limousines. I wonder why it has a 3rd brake light? I would remove it. Take care Buddy. If you need some parts I am parting out a '79 Sedan deVille. The body is rotted out but it runs great. It has the same color interior. It looks strange with no top.
