Beautiful job guys!! My Dad and I did a 2wd 79 ex cab, frame off. Spent many hours in the back seat on road trips, with a big ole cabover camper as a kid. I miss the 80's 🤣🤣🤣
Grew up in a couple 70s ford's, last was a 79 f250 4x4 my dad had till 88 or 89. He use to buy them brand new and trade them in. 79 was when the mills shut down forever and America wasn't great anymore.
Can't compliment you enough on this video and the series in general. The cost breakdown was appreciated as well. One of the things that impresses me is how many different fields you're capable of doing. Really hope there will be more projects like this in your/our future!
Thank you so much. I will keep posting videos, it's just hard to find the time with the new job. I will have an update soon on when you can see me on Powernation
I bought a new 1979 Bronco with the 400, auto, quad front shocks, traction lock, and captians chairs. Front end looked the same as yours. 1978 and 79 F series were incredible.
Bro I love the project turned out amazing. I have an 89 Ford Custom I would love to fix for my Sunday truck. One day I’ll get my hands dirty. Again awesome work.
Loved everything about your work. Really enjoyed watching this come together! Reminded me of working on cars with my dad and brother. Great memories and truly awesome craftsmanship on your part. Loved seeing your family take part.
What a great series! I would hire you to work on my projects, that are in various stages of completion, but SoCal is a long commute. I wish you the best luck to you and your family. My kids are grown with kids of their own, but they still tell me their fondest memories are of me reading to them and telling them bedtime stories. That is the best tip I can give you, after all the great information I learned in this series. Oh a funny story about my '81 F350: I lost a pair of duals on the Alaska Highway. Back then I traveled with a chainsaw and cut down a Spruce with a 24" butt. I bucked off a 20' log and after jacking up the truck I chained and boomered it to the frame, so that it ran out behind the flat deck. I drove about 30 mils and made it home with the log smoking pretty good. It was only about 8' foot long by the time I made it home, but I made it home. It is a good truck.
I think this era Ford and my 2002 Dodge 3500 are two of the best looking trucks ever made! When I have nothing better to do with $50,000, I'm going to build a 79 F-250 with a mean ass Cummins in it.
Awesome truck one suggestion would be rock sliders would in my opinion would kick off the look of this already bad ass truck thanks for making this video series really enjoyed it
Beautiful job! Loved watching it! Also loved the budget info at the end too, wish more content creators would add that. I'm going to check out your channel to see how Tenn. is treating you. Got the hell out of Phoenix last year, getting too old for that heat!
What a fantastic truck, really nice job. The new trucks , while they are nice, just do not look like they are meant for any serious work, or that you'd even want to put them to work like you would the older styles. And the prices for these tech loaded new trucks have just gotten out of control these days, $ 75,000 1/2 ton trucks.👍👍
This caught my eye on my suggestions. So I went back to watch the whole build. It came out great. I love everything you did to it. Besides if I had a choice of trucks to own this is very high on that list. That white is so nice. I just wanted to tell you that you have a new subscriber for life.
Looks good. Like the AC system a lot, looking forward to see what they come up with for controls. The drive by sounded good. Sound was on the stock side, but enough difference that people into these things will know something is up. Random story: Today I was with my nephew and there was 72ish Chevy pickup at that gas station. Nephew is like "that truck sounds like yours". I tell him it has a 12v Cummins in it, not identical but very close. Not skipping a beat he asked how many different vehicles had that engine. I'm like that engine didn't even exist when that truck was built. That threw him for a loop. I explain the owner modified the truck so he could put that engine in there. It bent his brain a bit, but the light turned on... I just removed a mental limit that he didn't even know existed. He is only 8 so I won't explain my "anything is possible". All you need is time money and GAS (Give A Shit). Run until you exhaust one of the three... but we will get there. Hope the new homestead is treating you all well. Talk to ya soon.
Austin Coulson my buddy Logan builds trucks down here in Tucson... maybe you know him. I made the comment before I saw you driving around my area 😁. Have fun in Tennessee!
Heck yeah man, that truck is definitely one of my favorites. And definitely look forward to the time-lapse. What is your next build? Im still working out the kinks on my carbon fiber dash, is a pain if you mess up, but should look pretty cool.
I am not sure what I will be able to do next. I have a personal truck I wanted to build (The 49 chevy truck that's been in the background of other videos) but I don't know when I'll be able to ship it here.
Wish I could’ve dropped down to see ya before y’all left since I’m up by Flagstaff. Just didn’t get my 7.3 rebuilt in time, but I’m sure that I’ll stop by when I finish my “RV” build on the M939.
Just found your channel yesterday and have binge watched the whole F350 series this weekend. Love the way you work, I’m coming to the end of a similar restoration on a W250 Cummins, I’ve made videos on my channel but they’re terrible in comparison to yours. You’ve got a new subscriber!
Nice job, it turned out great. I have one of these I'm planning on building myself except mine is just about too rusty to be worth tackling. Those beds with the tool box are friggin hard to find.
I go over the lift in earlier videos, but it's a 6" Skyjacker kit mostly. The tires are 37X12.5r17 and the rims are ProComp, but I don't know the offset. Seemed like 0 as I don't remember a large +/- offset
Austin, you knocked it out of the park! Truck looks fantastic. Now, you can’t tell me that you’d rather drive that dodge over that sweet 79 dent? Hope all is well in Tennessee. 😎
@@rodfatherschopshop6004 If you remember from the last video, I cut the brake fittings off the old lines to clean them up and save them. That's how cheap I am. 5mpg would make me mad enough to steal the Wife's Prius to drive to work. If I were building this for myself I would have gone with a 7.3 Powestroke and a 6 speed manual. Would have done a 2" lift with some E-rated 35's. That could get you 19 mpg and the ability to tow anything you could hook to it and still daily drive it. I do love the 460, though!
Austin Coulson I’m completely with ya on that whole thought process! 7.3 with a six speed would be killer! Maybe put that combo in that old CHEVY😡 you want to do? 😎
I am not at the moment, as I am in the process of building a new house and a custom pizza truck by myself, but if/when I am looking for new projects I will post it to the channel. 35's fit perfect on those old F150s, they should have came that way from the factory IMO
Quick question on trim/moldings... did you get aftermarket trim for the tailgate and rear taillights? If so, would you say it is good, or worth it to find original Ford parts?
LMC had what I needed for trim on the rear, the sides were polished and reused. I thought they fit with OE quality which is rare for trim. I would use these again for sure.
Back in the day guys used to direct the exhaust at the rear tire to heat them up for drag racing, but I think that was probably just Bro-Science as doing a quick burnout got the tires plenty hot enough to stick. I put them there because he wanted them hidden and not hanging out the back where they could get damaged if he went off roading.
What kind of power and torque do you think it makes? I had no idea holly sniper made a system to fit that intake and engine! Link and info? What was wrong with factory fuel injector? Performance gains?
Not sure on the hp/tq. The C6 has a lot of drag, so wheel hp/tq probably isn't great, but with the Sniper/Hyperspark I would guess 300hp and 400tq. If you want to run the Sniper on the EFI 460, you have to use an adapter from Price Motorsports. It plugs the injector ports and adapts the lower plenum to a 4 barrel. I chose the Sniper over the MPFI Ford setup because I would have had to use the Ford EEC iv PCM and would still not have timing control. Also would have a TON more wiring and no screen with tuning controls or diagnostics.
That's a good question. I assumed it was a brake light, but since it was the wrong one, I didn't turn it on, so it very well could have been a cargo light. I think the 3rd brake light wasn't required until '92
how much would you charge me to redo my 79 f350 4x4? id like a 460 with a c6 in California? if you can message me or lmk how to contact you. love this build. great job.
