@@DinosDragons I made a search-post over local ebay. And suddenly someone wrote me that a NL collector shop has one...new and sealed. He saw it there. Then I searched the shop (has only facebook page, but I searched it really exists in NL ) , wrote the owner and made the deal. I thanked the dude from ebay for the information... he said: No problem dude - the world of real dinosaur statue collectors is very small! Actually I payed the same like I would have payed for release price + shipping from USA. Really :)
Frustrated with the balance issue with Rebor made theropods n their obvious seams linking the tails with the bodies, I had decided to stop purchasing Rebor product n instead went with Namu until I came across this smilodon by Rebor. I love this "ice age" figurine with its acute details n a very impressive size. This somewhat restores my confidence in this company. For once, I find no flaws with this figurine. Great job Rebor!
Unfortuantely, bipeds really have big issues, since they're dead and static compared to real animals who are making constant changes all the time to stay and move upright. Hopefully Rebor will keep improving, and also focus on more accurate dinosaurs as well! These Smilodons are really amazing and I have no regrets getting two!
No one really knows! It's up to interpretation 😁 Also, keep in mind that this tiger stripe pattern was a special to commemorate the Year of the Tiger. The other colours are more what you would tend to see in most artist's depictions.
Pretty kitties! One thing to note though (since you mentioned that your mammalian anatomy is a bit lacking) the right hind leg that is outstretched has it's ankle (or Hock) at an awkward angle. When a digitigrade animal has the leg outstretched past the butt like that the ankle would be either pointing straight downwards or be angled slightly towards the body. Your Safari is a good example of proper ankle angle as well as the pic you showed at 9:27. With the way that ankle is angled in these models it gives the impression that the animal either has a deformity in that joint or had an injury that limits that joint's movement.

@@DinosDragons, As with every other Smilodon currently on the market( Papo,TNG,Mojo, Safari,CollectA , Sean Cooper,ALL OF THEM) ,Rebor is wholly inaccurate to actual Smilodon preportions. In true anatomy_ ignorant Rebor fashion, Rebor makes the same mistakes as every other Smilodon on the market and then some: Oversized head( Smilodon had a proportionally smaller head), regular Pantherine face( Smilodon/ Machairodonts in general had tall almost horse-like faces dissimilar to Pantherines), oversized/ grossly exaggerated fangs extending further past the mandible than in any actual Smilodon skulls, hindlimbs that are far too short,steroid induced exaggerated "unrealistically ripped" over musculature that Rebor tried to excuse via human anatomy & insinuation that Mauricio Anton ( THE expert on Smilodon anatomy) is quote an " average enthusiast/ Rebor knows better , and removable of Smilodon's proportionally long neck / replacement with far too short a neck. Not only is Rebor's Smilodon not the best on the market, anatomically,it's objectively the WORST on the market. Unsurprising, considering it comes from a company as illiterate to anatomical accuracy and anatomy in general as Rebor _ these are the same idiots who consulted unqualified mammalian vets and human surgeons to stick mammalian musculature on Dinosaurs,stuck regular Crocodilian integument on Deinosuchus, and ( originally) stuck squamate scales on an American alligator _ all while lying about being quote " experts in animal anatomy ".To date,the only accurate Smilodon on the market _ that gets the preportions right_ is the incredible upcoming Cyborzoic Smilodon by Creative Beast Studio
Hello, Hope all is well. Rebor never fails to impress. Stunning and beautiful to look at. I too have a pair of pussycats. The size and weight is impressive. Rebor is at the top for quality at this level.
If they went solely for scientific accuracy with what they can do now, I think they'll give other companies even more of a run for the money. I have never really gone in for their designs, but I would really love the Titanoboa which is now no longer available without costing an arm and leg 😅☹
Wow you must really LOVE these! And yet having these two, repainted so well and differently, it doesn't feel to me like I have two of the same. Especially with those interchangeable heads. Rebor really did good here!
I'm still undecided. I think the sculpt is a very beefy bruiser type which is missing, very much like the Blue Rhino sculpt. That alone is a big plus! I wish Kiss had the colour scheme of Tusk, I would definitely have gotten it for sure! I don't often watch reviews but for this one I might decide after watching some. Pretty sure you guys will get Rebor way earlier than I do! 😁
Got my tiger version today from Amazon prime yesterday, cheaper than Aliexpress and no need to wait. Debating if I want the jungle or tiger , I like jungle more because the fur on jungle seems a bit more dirty. However , I am going to get ice age no mater what, so it’s better to get the tiger since the pattern is different. So, I am going to have exact same set with you , not copycat just better combinations for different color and pattern. The jungle ver on yesterdays prime day was only 63, so tempting
The problem I have with Rebor's Smilodon is that the colour variants all look damn good! Even if I had the money to pay for them all, I don't have the space 😔😔😔 Any of those variants you name I would be happy to own!
@@DinosDragonsI feel the same way. I put my tiger one with Nanmu, and I think they look great together. Wish I can show you. I am waiting for the ice age. I separate PNSO and Nanmu, they are just too different.
I was skeptical about the detached parts from Rebor, didn’t like it especially for Kiss. So I didn’t get any Rebor. This one is good, almost can’t tell unless from the top. I am waiting for the 恐鱷, I think it should be ok since the scale design can kind of waive the connection part.

Thanks Rajitha. The good news is that I think there are still some on sale at regular retail prices, although once they get sold out the prices usually go up. If you could, at least get the Ice Age one. I might get a dire wolf as I love wolves, and it's nice to have a prehistoric model. But we'll have to see how much it costs first! I'm trying to conserve funds especially in this crazy period. If Rebor does it as well as this Smilodon, I foresee I might actually start buying mammals from them, which would be crazy expensive compared to the PNSOs 😥😥

Check the online stores. Depending on which part of the world you're in, you should be able to find a store that doesn't kill you with shipping. However, Rebor tends to be sold out really quick. So if you can't find them there, you will have to try out EPay.
No, totally unrelated. Smilodon belongs to the now completely extinct machairodont family. I was referring to the colour scheme chosen because this is the Year of the Tiger, and the tiger is quite a majestic animal in our culture.
I will probably get it, but unfortunately for Western figures by the time we get them (very late), you would already have it and the videos would be out. But if I find enough to say about a model, I will usually put up a video anyway. We'll see! 😁
Yes that is very very sad indeed! You are right, the Siberian tiger is the largest at up to 300kg. In fact many books like to exaggerate the sizes of prehistoric cats but in fact the extant Siberian tiger was larger than many of them.
Wow that's really really hard to pin down! My favourite group are the sauropods, but my favourite dinosaur is Carnotaurus. I haven't given it a thought to mammals and other groups though!
