1982 is another year where the banner colors are crazy! They have one team color but then the second doesn't match, like green for the Padres and Expos.

In the mid '90's a friend of mine went back to Chicago to help his friend clean out his friends dad's house after he passed away. They got to the attic and they found a case of 1952 Topps and in that case they found 75 Mickey Mantle RCs and 60 Willy May's RCs. The guy became a millionaire over night.

That Henderson looks almost perfect, i guess it's just surface issues, hope it comes back at least an 8 or 9 if not a 10. Cool box breaks, just went by so quickly....... Only "big" rookies didn't find were Baines and Gibson, not bad.

It's absolutely bat-sh*t that 1981 Topps is $1,000 a box - not to mention - with absolutely no mention of Jeff Reardon at all, lol. Yea, I wonder how many "collectors" lost their hats on those Reardon Rookies, the base or the traded???? I remember back in the mid-90's buying boxes of 1981 Topps for $50.00 bucks a box, and even the 1982 Topps for $5-7 bucks a pack at an LCS that specialized in older or "vintage" cards.. I mean 1981 Topps by far was considered the worst set from the 80's right behind 86 and 88 Topps.. Tho, 1981 Topps was actually the first "vintage" er pre-88 set I put together so 81 certainly has a special place in my hobby heart, lol.... And I say "vintage", or put "vintage" in quotations because I was born in September of 1980 and most cards post 1980 aren't really considered "vintage", not to mention I was buying unopened boxes of this stuff in the mid-90's - so at the time the product was only 15 years old - so not exactly "vintage"... Anyway, back then then you could buy either 80, 82 or 83 for around $200 a box with 1981 being the cheapest at a pretty much universal rate of $50 a box and 84 Topps around $75 /box.. Of course 85 Topps - because of McGwire - was inconsistent to say the least. You could get a box of 85 Topps for anywhere between $75 and $500 or more depending on when you bought it. Of course 86 to 89 Topps were pretty cheap - all easily under $50 and as low as $5 at points.. Heck even before this card boom you could get junk wax from 86 Topps to 89 Topps, and of course other brands for $5 a box all day long.
