Chryslers / Westbends 2-cylinder motors do have that distinctive throaty metallic sound. Never could measure their sound level but my recollection is that lakeside, you would hear them over a similar size OMC. In fact, I added sound deadening material in my 25 hp bonnet so passengers could hear one another without having to shout. Just by curiosity, what lake were you running on ? Regards.
