I am, and in nearing the 50 years I've had it, "perhaps that speaks for itself". MEMORIES are one of life's neatest reminders of a simpler time ... but the lack of appeal to anyone sometimes is rather troubling with these cars over-all. SO: (as I say here): in the END - "you do it for you". 🙂
It's put away again, and perhaps [someday], I'll get it back out / and THEN: "who knows". Even 25 K's no money anymore (to even contemplate a sale of "anything"). IOW: where's any reasoning / + there's no point in it, as even an entry "bug eyed car" is north of 40K + ... "and THAT'S for designed obsolesant junk" !. 🤔 *BUT THX. none the less. 😅
Your laugh sounds like Muttley’s laugh! 😂 Your sons are missing out! Can’t believe it! Gorgeous car sir! The whole molding parts missing would piss the heck out of anyone! Great video!
Thanks / and like I said: These cars won't even garner a reserve bid (one just went through on EBay with just North of 500 miles / no-one wanted it) Lastly; "even an appraiser would (and did) just laugh at me" ... One's SOLACE: "In the END ya do it for YOU". There it is. ;- )
@@TommyZTrains What are you asking for it? Crazy that this video is 4 years old! Have you tried on selling it on FB? There’s tons of groups there for many makes and models. Tons of networking and such, posted 2 of my cars on eBay and they didn’t sell there. Then I sold one on FB of all places! 😂
I haven't tried, and besides, it's now put-away for time to re awaken it (many years down the road probably). Lets say I got even 5 or 6 K for the thing ... "that's no money" / and It would make NO sense to do that anyway. Regals are dead and are still considered "an old mans car". *(and now I'm that old-man") LOL @@OdditiesOffcial
Another beautiful '80 Regal, Tommy Z!! I'm doing a similar 'fantasy factory option' treatment to my '80 Regal Limited, but I'm going back a decade- a 1980 Buick Regal with an 'optional' 455 GSX package (remember that one from your dealer days??) I'm freshening up a 1971 Buick 455 with Stage 1 heads, adding a GS hood tach, GSX spoiler, hood stripes, side stripes, etc. I'm sticking with the original metallic gray firemist color, but with the way it's shaping up, if it were yellow with a round headlight swap, I could probably convince a few car show newbies that it's a '70 GSX (just without any curves). You can definitely see the influence of the '70s Skylark/GS/GSX in the '78 to '80 Regals. Oh, and it also gives me an excuse to leave the original 10-bolt rear end in it (no 12-bolts in the old big block Buicks, apparently).
I sure do remember those 455 (and 430's - 465's) !! ... Once, ALL of these example cars were very common-place and abundant, but THEN came "cash for clunkers", and at area Dealerships (here) there were acres of cars waiting to be scraped, "and you couldn't so much as even breathe on them / let-alone grab a window crank or molding" as they were guarded and quarantined ! !. Then: (soon after) the yards would follow-suit and have there's crushed as well". NOW there are none. ;- ( DO a video Ellis !!
...and the fiberglass front clip, grill, front bumper, front bumper fillers, etc. I swear my 1980 Buick Regal Limited is the HARDEST car to find parts for. I've lost count of how many '78 to '87 Regal parts I've had to return because they only fit '81 to '87 Regals. So far, the only body parts I've seen that will work on '78 to '87 Regals are the outside mirrors, badges, and maybe the rocker panels. And be prepared to do a little fabricating WHEN you replace the rear frame rails on your '78 to '80- they're different, too!
Well sure, "to exemplify this general overall thought", (or "that" thought) as I have 9 different example Regals ... (the remark is aligned with a lack of any overall 'want' of any of these cars) ....
All good, Tommy! I slapped on the 3in1 last week, by the way. GREAT STUFF! Put it on to the 2007 Ranger. Gawd, it shines. Anyway, love that Regal. I had one. Loved that car, so put my name on yours. :-)
It's put away / and has been since this video, and; even if were a 15K offer (to buy it), I'm afraid I've come to far now , *[as I close in on nearly 50 years of ownership] ... as even that's literally 'nothing' anymore ... and, "even that's hardly a down payment on so much as as a used car anymore" (that same 15 K). So, trust me "many want ta buy it", (and I'm flattered + THX.), but I'll respectfully pass. Lastly: I hope that in 20 more years, It'll still turn heads as I'm positive there is NOT another example like it anywhere !. Hope that makes sense / Best
I agree with you the mid 80s t type were also optional with a regular v6 or an oldsmobile v8 of you did not want the 3.8 turbo they were just appearance package
