In 1996 I bought a 1982 model with 50,000 miles on it. I had the carburetor rebuilt and a new headliner put in. I drove it for several years. Mine had a straight 6 in it.
Please keep it stock, its such a nice time capsule.the are very rare in this condition. The six is a tough dependebale engine wich suits the car nicely.greetings from Henry Hendriks, a subscriber from the beatiful city of Arnhem in the Netherlands.
Keep it original, your rarely ever see these cars original, let alone even on the road, too nice to modify. Glad to hear you got it mostly dialed in now.
I am the now owner of a 1983 Ford Fairmont futura with only 31882.00 miles on semi flawless condition garage kept for years it will be a summer car only hopefully dream Cruise next year I don't like it I love it. 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😅🤪🤪
Love the Car as is. If you ever want to sell it. I would definitely want to buy. This was my first car with my wife. It would be a great project for me to restore
That's one sweet Fairmont! Perfect dash and driver's seat, you hardly ever see that! You've gotta put a nice small block Ford in that thing though. I lived with that 6 in mine for a while too, and I couldn't stand how slow it was, haha. Explorer motors are a dime a dozen, slap a 600 carb on there, and you're done!
I have a 78 2door. 1 family owned. I remember when no one cared about them. When I could buy one for 500 all day any day. Now everyone wants to buy it, anywhere I drive it its a attention getter.
I think I need to get it from you and take it on the winter LeMons Rally...because the first car I ever rented was a Fairmont, at Wilkes Barre Scranton airport, in January 1984, and drove it for 6 weeks in the cold while taking a training course at Tobyhanna Army Depot. It would be deja vu all over again.
Love your car man! I've got a 1980 4 door as well. I'm going to keep the 200 in mine but do a head cam and intake swap this winter to get around the same power that a decent 302 has. Hope you haven't swapped it out man.
Randy Finfrock No word yet. Hoping to hear something soon. I was going to post an update video on Sunday since that’s the one year anniversary of the Californians For Classic Car Smog Exemptions Facebook group.
Score, but you have bad taste in friends if they're pooh-poohing it. Interesting that it has the 1978-only, clear front turn signal lenses. Love that color combo too!
I have a 'like new 79 with 8K miles that I paid 3K for. I then paid 3K for a built 351 Windsor. For 6K I can now dust off most any Mustang and leave them wondering what just happened.
talking about clean wait till you see my 1983 Ford Fairmont futura, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂 dream Cruise here I come. 🤣🤣🤣😭😭🤣😂 31800 miles. I would swap my wife before I swap my engine. A 3.3 L
