You did great, those rear side covers are in good condition and extremely hard to come by. I have a 1980 XR80 I restored. My bike had aftermarket Maier covers, they are not nice. I sourced an oem one and did some work to reproduce the other. It is on my channel. They are collectable these days. 1980 Was the first year for the 80cc engine. The 75cc finished in 1979.
.Honda only made XR75s from 1973 through 1978. I suspect that you have an XR80 with xr75 side panals and decals. The gas tank and exhaust are wrong for an XR75 but would be correct for an XR80.
Ok so I checked- I have a 1980 frame. The engine has a stamp that says XR75. I’d have to research to see what year exactly. So a little mix match going on. Good catch!
@@motion_mx Yeah the XR75, XR80s and the XR100s have lots of interchangabe parts. I think it is a big plus because you can use alot of the late model parts when restoring the old 70s model XR75s. I actually have 5 XR75s in various years and conditions. Thanks again for the great video!
