Recently came across your channel and have enjoyed catching up on your videos especially as I have the same Enfields. A z650 was the first bike I restored. An 83 F3. Look forward to more 👍
Good to see you posting again! Pleased you are binning the pod filters, I hate to see those on any bike, good choice on the colour, green is my favourite, should look awesome when it's done. I fitted a mega phone on my 500C the other week but it was too loud for me, so I took the plunge and spent out on the same as your one, it sounds lovely now but no test ride yet because of the lock down! Look fwd to an update on the Z.
The majority of the bike is there, tidy it up, paint it emerald green, you can get new seat foam for them, and a ultrasonic cleaner will clean carbs, parts etc. Great project.
I bought a B1 in 1985 for £650 it was best bike I had before girlfriend then wife obliged a sale a couple of years later. Starting was a bitch solved by new points, I recall there being 2. Wonderful to ride I loved it.
Mark I would get the seat re-done to original spec. R.K. Leighton have decades of experience recovering and restoring seats. Nothing worse than a poor seat or (thankfully not in your case) wheels to let a bike down. Good luck with the project, I look forward to more videos.
Hi Stuart, the project has stalled as I've moved house and don't yet have a suitable workshop. But I have purchased an original airbox and fully intend on restoring the breathing to it's original format.
