I guess these trends must have been regional, because in my neck of the woods, we had British Knights, Members Only jackets, penny loafers and "boat shoes" with no socks, Puma/Adidas/Nike sweat suits. And whenever we let our "Soul Glo," we had to have whatever Rico Tubbs wore that week. (Now the theme song is stuck in my head, and I'm picturing a bunch of flamingos.) But Mom would not allow gold rope chains and Kangols. Momz was one Lady who DID NOT Love Cool James.
