Nice XT👍 as young teenagers my buddy's dad had a TT and he specifically told his son DO NOT TRY TO KICK START IT which as being a young teenager that was a green light to try My buddy hopped on it and started to try and kick it over about a dozen times then the notorious KICK BACK immediately made it self well known when it kicked back and launched my buddy right up and over the bars and onto the ground .I laughed my ass off as he was asking me WTF happened. Man ill never forget seeing that and we still 😂 laugh about him Goin airborne..
I had the 82 in Florida. That bike was built straight from yamaha! Had 800 and some odd miles when I got it. Factory beads on both sides of the odometer. Fastest dirtbike I ever rode! That's the one I flipped and smashed my bottom 6 vertebrae. Glad mI still am able to ride my dirtbikes! Sharp bike kap

Yes, I owned a '78 XT-500 Enduro back in the mid. '80's. It had that brushed bare aluminum tank also, but unfortunately, had a couple big dings in it!! Later found a brand new NOS steel gas tank, the white/red/black colored one, at a local Yamaha Dealer for $25! The gas tank was so cherry! Also bought it with an Super Trapp pipe installed. JDM, perhaps. Japanese Domestic Market, vehicles specifically made for the Japanese market. If an automobile, will be right side steering wheel setup, and usually a bit more performance to boot!
My buddies Dad had one of these back in the mid 90's, original owner, maybe 3000 Miles on it.. That thing was hard to kick even with the decompression lever.. fast bike, I had it to 95mph when I was 14! 😂
Hell Yes! Nothing worse than cowardly and brazen thiefs. If somebody wants something, they need to work their ass off for it, like everybody else. We have a huge lack of respect problem in our current times. People work way too hard for their property, and should never have to worry about some scumbag stealing their property.
