This is one of the nicest yz465 so I've ever owned.and as all original Plastics except for the front number plate rims and spokes are pretty nice original pipe and silencer. Great compression, idles and runs out nice
OMG that's gorgeous ! My dad raced for Yamaha briefly in the 70's, those yellow YZ's are so iconic to me, I never had one, closest I came was a 1983 IT 250 I had when I was 16 back in 86.
I was always jealous of you U.S. riders with yellow plastics, loved riding the 465 and its scary habit of arse kick as the rear shock faded under the tank. This bike to me is the bike equivalent of Raquel Welch at her peak.mmm👍
@@kingdebary Sure, it was a fast high revving beast without much low end.. A friend let me ride his YZ490 this same year and found that my 250 was at least as fast on acceleration...
Wide000 I bought a YZ465G as soon as they were available and disagree with comments about them not having much low end in power. It didn’t come on as hard at low rpm as the CR500’s I owned a few years later, but in my opinion it had a great engine with smooth strong power throughout a wide rpm range.
@@Mike-Snoducky You are right. My comment is not clear. I meant that the RM 250Z 1982 did not have much low end but it was as fast as the YZ on acceleration. It was a very peaky engine, with everything on top. MXA described it as a ''pro only'' bike. Suzuki tamed it the year after. Of course, the power of the 490 was much broader and more usable.
My buddy has a 465 with a reed cage added, shoehorned into a yz125 frame supermoto style.. mine was a 4speed his is a later 5speed....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸p.s stay safe
Siiick!!! I want something faster than my '90 yz 250..that would do just fine..but suspension? .2 smokers all the way!!!! I love yhat thing. .we all know it isnt slow.
Must say you have some awesome restored mint conditioned vintage dirt bikes!👍👏👏. Do you keep all of them, you must have loads of these 2 stroke beasts! 😊😎, cheers and keep up wirh your great work, from norwegian subs
@@kingdebary ah okay, fully understandable👍 I'm a car n bike passionate/collector and have 6 cars n 3 motorbikes. That is more than enough for me😅 cheers!
That bike is really nice I had one not quite that nice it was Running At a idol and it shut off and it blew the case apart somehow when it shut off it must spend backwards & IT split the case
I adore this bike! Technical question...out of all the bikes of this era, which is largest (height and wheelbase). In other words, which would best suit a 6’3 rider?
@@kingdebary a day late dollar short lol IAM looking for a 465 or 490 Yamaha all the way ,58 years young and still racing Iowa hare scramble ,father daughter racing woods
@@andrew2366 turns out I just purchased a bike from the UK (plucknett, Crewkerne). Waiting for it to get shipped to the states. I have a good importer-exporter if you ever want to get a bite from the US to the UK
