Love Ray, the dude is legendary. I found me respecting him highly, then I heard a concert where Morrison fell out, for obvious reasons, and The Doors still loyal to the fans, kept on. Dude, is playing the keyboard with one hand, rhythm bass with his left, impossible for all the population just about, add to that, all these at the same time, singing. Holy shit is that just legendary.
I remember being a 15 year old kid when this first aired I couldnt get through on the phone line I tried and tried with no luck.Im 55 now and still dig the doors I guess I always will
I love these earlier interviews with the surviving Doors where being in a band with Jim isn't varnished by time and nostalgia. You can tell it was difficult working with such a mercurial personality. It isn't glossed over. Same with the earlier interviews with the Beatles after their breakup versus the ones you hear now with Paul where time has softened his perspective on the painful events that led to the end of the Beatles.
exelente grabacion 10 años despues de la muerte de jim este grupo podria ser en 1981 mejor que the beattles desgarbadamente no vivio jim contemporaneamente junto con lennon para probar de que jim era mas fruto de personalidad que de mercadotecnia. .
I think of these guys as the first hippies, also the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan Arlo Guthie etc... The remaining Doors tell us they were the last of the Beatnics or beat guys that rejected society after being in W.W. ll and the Korean War. John Musgrave a Vietnam Veteran does poetry as the original post W.W. ll Beatnics did. I guess you do not have to be a Veteran to be a Beatnic , but what did the real beatnic's want from you to be accepted ?
Come on, John I think lost his cerebral cortex over the years. He didn't smoke pot, he was a quitter, and now he's too I'll to do an interview? Over the phone? I can do an interview while puking in a toilet. (Check this irony;John went doing a bunch of interviews and no wants recognition as an actor. Why didn't he practice by acting like a drummer in a epic band doing an interview he should be greatful.
My favourite band of all time, but my god Ray could be insufferable sometimes. I wish he could just stop mythologising for 5 minutes. So many people get the impression Jim Morrison was pretentious but what they're really reacting to is Ray's pretetentious description of Jim.
