I could be hella wrong, but my understanding was that the single round headlamps only came from the factory till 1971 on the White Freightliner FL sleeper cabs, and 1972 for the single drive day cabs. After that, White Freightliner moved to the dual oval headlamp housings. This particular truck seems like a mashup of several different year model design features. Maybe the fleet shop combined stuff from several different parts bins to find what worked best for them? (And now for you too?)
Cool truck, and cool story my boyfriend has me liking trucks too. He's a cabover fan and we play the same game going down the road. Every truck I guess what kind it is and I've gotten good. And I always yell Cabover when we see one. He wants one so bad
Cabovers were popular in the USA back in the '80s & down. When the law in the USA increased the length limit, that's what killed the need for them to pull trailers that exceeded a certain length.
Yeah she's sharp looking for sure! And nice that's awesome. I got my permit a while back but never ended up getting my license since I didn't see using it too much. Do you use your CDL for work?
Nice little tour , I had a lithium jump pack , after using it to start one vehicle it made a pop noise on the second attempt and never worked again. I brought it back for a refund and did not look back. Happy Sunday Chris !!
Thanks Richard. And yeah maybe there's a fuse or something inside that blew on this one. I don't know, they sent it to me free to try out so no big loss or anything
@@NNKH2 I hear you , I got mine at Harbor Freight. I almost did not buy it after seeing 3 or 4 on the as is "discount shelf". I decided to just return it while it was still under warranty after the pop and puff of smoke. Personally for me I have not had good luck with electrical items at Harbor Freight.
Super, If its to travel far distance , would be good to add a bigger room plus shower and ready to travel across the Nation. I like that type of Truck liner . 👍
If I had known you were a semi-guy, I probably wouldn't have given you so much flack, I hope there was no thin-skin punctured, lol, that would be a nice rig for somebody to restore, all it needs is probably a few parts, paint and a whole-lot of polishing, great video, thanks for sharing.
I love Old Trucks Like this! Make it More Sense to own a Truck Like this or better with 2 Axles in the back im a German Truck Driver so it Looks Like our Trucks normal 3 Axle Trailer and you Can pull up 26 Tons and have 40t complete but in Your Country i didnt Know it makes sense Because no Truck driving Simulator bring COEs to the Game Just with mods
I don't believe that's an 81..a 300 Cummins that's really old in 74 they had a 350 Cummins and 81 that was a 400 big cam and the single headlights that's 71 also that Freightliner is more of a 71 than an 81
