The gas tank on my 1981 Jeep CJ5 has a leak. Luckily, like most parts for Jeeps the gas tank is cheap and readily available. Now all that’s left to do is fight the rust and get it swapped.
Hi. Great video very informative. I have a 1978 cj5. Yours looks pretty much the same as mine. Mine has a leak coming fr the top. Not sure if it's just hose, Regardless, I need to at least lower the tank to see whats going on. Thank you
A wise man once said. You're supposed to remove all the metal before you paint the rust. I'm glad I only listened to him once. LOL The old jeep is coming together. See you on the next one, 😁
LOL. I have found some frame rot I will need to repair, but I’m not worried about that skid plate. If it ever gets to the point of just being a tank strap I’ll replace it!
Where did you put the ground wire to, the frame of jeep and what kind of screw did you use? Did you hook up the sending unit wire right before you raised up tank? 😊
