my god your inside and have a lift, i'm so jealous, I'm 50 and still crawling around on the dirty driveway rebuilding my 79 Camaro, this is the next project on the list to be done
Well I’m a little older than you. 53. Crawling on the ground; Been there done that in my younger days. It is nice to have large garage and a hoist. When I built this house those two things were a necessity. Don’t mean to brag. What’s your ‘79 Camaro specs. And where you up to on it? Thanks for your comment, Rob.
@@RobsGarageDays just pulled it out of the garage last year, redid the brakes, new carb/intake, LT headers 3" exhaust all the way back, new TCI TH350 tranny, getting ready to do rear then front suspension
Great video and good detail. I just started fixing a 1980 Trans Am on Central Coast, NSW, long way to go to finish it. Wish I had your awesome garage setup.
Hi, thanks for commenting. I love this shape TA. Everyone wants a ‘77… yeah not me! Enjoy your ‘80 model. They are very good cars to drive. A lot of fun too. I do like my garage and my hoist. Thanks for noticing. Have a great day, Rob.
G’day, yeah you’re probably right! Though the TA stops OK the way it is. Maybe I can consider that for a future video. Thanks for the tip. Thanks for watching.
G'Day, I'm not sure where the sway bar came from? I've purchased parts from here in Oz and in the USA. Yeah this TA handles quite well for an old car. Thanks for watching. Rob.
Trans Ams were designed to sit a little more than an inch lower in the rear to give the appearance of acceleration even when sitting still. General motors did this purposely.
@@RobsGarageDays I know this because I'm in the middle of lowering the rear of my 79 Formula. I read this in an article by Bill Porter the designer of the second generation Firebird. From the factory they sat 8.7 inches in the front measured from the rocker panel behind the front wheel. And 7.6 inches in the rear just in front of the rear wheel. He claims they did this to give the car an appearance of moving even while sitting still. Kind of like it's being launched.
@@RobsGarageDays i love the trans am a very lovely automobile especially the concealed wipers frameless doors and the overall shape and the duck tail spoiler all in all one of last of the trans ams Pontiac made American cars in the late and early 70s are the best .....not like today ......
