So I found 2 of the Joe Montana #216's in my childhood mementos box today. Now I need to get it appraised. Looks brand new. Should I call the PSA folks for appraisal?
If you grade that Joe please let us know the grade I'm curious what it got I always keep one pack from each box I break (so far mostly "junk boxes") that I will not open. That way I have one sealed pack from each year. Congrats on finding Joe Montana! Why is his card tough to find? Was it a low print run? I'll be subbing to you. I like that you are not "Mr stats" and comment on each and every player. Your more casual and like to get to the meat and potatoes of the set: you cared about those 3 and that's all you really cared about. Joe was the goal. I collect but I don't know whom everyone is but I'm learning. I'm better with baseball. My best so far is a Ryne Sandberg rookie pulled right from a pack.
Congrats on your score. Any chance you got an extra of #355 (Tony Hill ), #390 (Steve Bartkowski), #461 (Tommy Kramer) to trade? I'm three away from my set!
More like a 7 at best w that centering. It’s not very often it’s actually worth breaking older wax, and this box was a huge financial loser as the Montana won’t get more then a couple hundred at best
Unfortunately I don’t have any valuable Saints cards. I can check. I may have a /5 Michael Thomas but it’s not all that valuable. If I can find it, I’ll just have you pay for shipping?…
Montana was drafted in 79 how come 81 is his rookie card.. 1980 should’ve been his rookie card because it would of covered the 1979 season. Which would be his rookie season. Unless he didn’t have a card in 79 or 80.
A players rookie card isn’t always his rookie season. Montana was the backup in SF behind Steve Deberg his rookie season and they don’t typically print a card for the backup QB.
For what that box cost, you could’ve bought those singles in nice grades. And if that Montana has a soft corner on top of the off centering, you’re not getting an 8 grade. Wast of money breaking wax. Not to mention fast forwarding the rip to only show the hits so others can’t see them shows why you don’t deserve another subscriber.
After watching this video my nerves are shot with the way you open the packs. You must not care about the cards the way you open the packs and rub the corners on the pack ouch...
