I always liked the one that went 'One of the good things, about Hawaii, is wonderful KGMB..'

I worked at the Burger King @ Waikiki Trade Center in the 80's as a teen. It totally sucked!

My childhood was traumatic

Ah high school daze - when local people would actually go to Waikiki to watch a movie.

Regarding the very last line: Usually it was, "...will not be seen tonight, due to network pre-emption on the mainland." That probably was before 1982, though. The Waikiki Trade Center initially was advertised as an upscale joint, as this commercial shows, but unfortunately the opening tenants of the ground floor and second floor didn't end up lasting that long - and after that, it was just a succession of low-budget businesses.

1982. I turned 14 that June and began my Freshman year of high school in the fall!

0:41 does anybody remember that "joy square" arcade center on the second floor, in the late 80's early 90's? its like feaver dream remembering that place, because it faded out into dust.

That's Bill Bast in the car ad. He used to live across the street from us in Makakilo.
