@@twotribes2188 In New Zealand we got our first live telecast when the All Blacks played Wales at Cardiff Arms Park in 1972. Every test match from that time on was telecast live back to New Zealand. Something wasn't quite right about your game not being treated in the same manner. South Africa v All Blacks test series in 1976, France 1977, British Isles Grand Slam Tour 1978 (all test matches and Saturday games), England / Scotland Tour 1979, America, Canada and Wales Centenary Tour 1980........the list goes on.
Brett Wilkinson these are tour games are against nobodies, and the coverage from northern UK tv would have cost too much to get via satellite. The Test matches were shown live from the early '70's, just like your All Blacks.
Mascord Brownz nah mate, i watched the 1978 tour test matches live from the UK in sydney as a little boy, stayed up late and all channel 7 with rex on commentary as well
Mascord Brownz yeah I know, the question was 'why weren't these games televised live to australia?' And I replied 'because only test matches were televised live.' This was a tour match ergo it wasnt live on tv.
@@twotribes2188 ITV in the Border, Granada and Yorkshire areas showed some of the weekend club games on RL Action with Richard Madeley presenting and Keith Macklin commentating there is a video on youtube on another channel of the Hull KR game with the Keith Macklin commentary but only 10 Minutes of it and not even those games was shown in Australia in extended highlights/replay form and only on news bulletins
