I remember that Thanksgiving game as a kid. I just became a Giants fan the previous year after hearing about their 40+ year playoff draught. LT made defense cool. Everyone else in school was jumping on the 49ers bandwagon. In 83 Parcels took over and Big Blue defense became dominate in 85-90. As the late Wellington Mara said... "Once a Giant always a Giant."
They should have a hall of fame included for football commentators too. I think it is fair. They contribute to how the NFL has become the way it is today too. Summeral and Madden would definitely be in there.
Many people tend to forget that 1982 was the first "Strike season" I had just turned 15 when Thanksgiving came around and was just happy NFL football was back after suspending operations (The notorius "Scab games" wouldn't happen until the 1987 strike) I remember how weird it was with such a shortened season and the NFL throwing out the traditional playoff format for a Super Bowl Tournament where teams were seeded in each conference.
2:32:23 was my favorite play as a Lions fan, after seeing LT single handedly win this game. He was impossible to block when he was completely coked out like he was on a day like this
Your channel is awesome happy thanksgiving bro.....thanks for these games now I can still see the lions & cowboys on Turkey day when the nfl was really good unlike the current nfl which is pathetic & unwatchable....as always great job
Anyone know why LT was benched the 1st qtr? Never mind lol it was the 1st half and he was hurt... so he dominated in the 2nd half on a bummed knee... sheesh
Danielson replaced Hipple the first 2 games of the year and again replace him in this game. Hipple would lose his starting job for the remainder of the season and wouldn't start again until the playoffs. Lions had no other quarterbacks
