I would really like to have a car like this one, if I lived near the beach! Especially in a warm country. Imagine cruising in it, listening to old songs from cassettes, and going to the beach.
A beautiful little van in amazing clean rust free condition. However you said it would be a great in town or beach cruiser. If you want it to stay that nice don't use it as a beach cruiser. the bodies are are thin metal on all Kei vehicles to keep them light and salt will eat it up fast and ruin it.

ive got a 92 coming from japan to fort lauderdale already have the honda acty truck ill have to drag it over there we could be like a motorcycle gang cept way better
we have a lot of surplus kei cars here in the Philippines and planning to buy one. How is the performance? Can you drive it along tollways and high elevation?
I'd straight-up say no, assuming 'tollways' means 'highways' around where I live. Elevation shouldn't be a big issue in regards to making power with less air, but the hill-climbing ability would probably be very poor for this specific generation of Hijet. That being said, a turbo or supercharged kei truck or van would probably do a lot better and the newer you can go the less and less of an issue it would be to take them up hills and on tollways.
Apologies for the late reply, but if you buy something in Japan and want to do it yourself, expect to pay $3000 on top of whatever you pay in Japan to have it in your possession, tagged and titled.
