I spent 4 hrs teaching myself how to spin a coat hanger on my finger with a penny balanced on its hook. All because of watching a Stupid Human Trick : )
Was just thinking the same thing. She'd be 90 now. I was just out of college when this episode aired. Now I have grandchildren. You're so right. Time does fly fast.
My brother was on this show. His stupid trick was to turn his eyelids inside out and roll his eyeballs so only white showed, all without using his hands.
I seem to reacall him as well as a few others on other programs doing this type of trick ... as well as one gentleman and also a woman who could make their eyeballs almost pop completely out their eyesockets... Too Freaking Funny!!! the things that make us smile eh?
I like Kimmel, he has echos of Letterman, but, I'll agree in one regard, no one today brings on, and showcases, regular people like Carson and Letterman did. Kimmel actually does a tiny bit of that too (mostly on Zoom feeds) but not like the legends.
I miss Letterman. Late night television died a horrible death when he retired. His last few years weren't that great but, even then, he was way better than that hump, Leno.
And he got it on his first try. It was followed by an egg throwing fit by DeLuise and Johnny. Funny stuff. Especially when Burt Reynolds came out. If anyone reading this hasn’t seen that check it out on RU-vid. It’s classic.
And HEEEEEERRRRREEESSSSSS JOHNNY!!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SmnzqdPAbeo.html I am still laughing from when it originally aired!! thanks for reminding me.. good old fashioned no BS humor!! Cheers!!
*** edit of my edit Lol*** I just this second actually noticed that although Dom DeLuise used five eggs he only made 4 of the 5 drop into the glasses but... Johnny took an egg -- as this bit became seemingly more and more of being somekind of prank against him -- Dom And Burt as well as Johnny were known to be quite the pranskters when they were together and ya just never freaking knew WHAT would eventually transpire!! -- so, to continue (I AM trying to be brief but laughing crazily does not help!) as Johnny read the play and not exactly sure how this would actually end up he 'armed himself with an egg as a mock threat, (Pure Comedy ad libbing or improv on the fly or whatever the correct term is) ask the trick finally was done he instinctively saw one had missed and while Dom was franticly searching to see if the aggs had landed in the glasses whilst the mayhem was rampant he picked up one of the glasses to give Dom a cheers dropping the egg he had as ammo into the one sans cackleberry!!! Then the egg fight--- but I am being an ass here i think. If you watch it you will see the results for yourselves. sorry for running off ... Peace and Love ... Always!
The egg man made a performance error by using a tray with upright borders. He should use a flat sheet , glass or something, to make 4 eggs 100% performance safe. It is a trick done 20 years earlier in a much funnier way by Tommy Cooper. The trick with upright tray can be done but with one egg in the middle.
Dear Mr Hoog, As I am the Egg Man, allow me to point out the errors of your ways. 1. It is virtually impossible to find a perfectly flat cookie tin or pizza sheet, especially when one is looking in Manhattan in the fall of 1983. The sheet worked well and the trick worked perfectly well. The one broken egg which I had to redo was not a result of the edge. 2. As has been pointed out Dom De Louise did the trick on the Carson show many years before which is where I learned it. 3. Who the fuck cares? I am the egg man, not the walrus
I have a Doberman that can do all those tricks. For that last trick, I think you should practice with golf balls and plastic cups before going professional.
I watched this show religiously back in the day. Does anyone know where to find the stupid human trick where a guy shot milk out of his eye? It was the strangest thing, ever.
Wasn't that Kenneth Keith Kellenbach? The guy from the Stern show? A lot of people can do that trick though, the tear duct runs with the sinus duct so inhale the milk and pressurize the sinus cavity and milk comes out the duct. I do it with smoke from my cigar, lol.
