Can we just all admit that THIS was the golden era of team logos? Every team had an awesome logo back then

Listening to yr home-team's games on a.m. radio in the 50s-80s has to be one of the best, most pure American experiences ever! Fun break.

Thanks for doing this Throwback Thursday break Jabs. Love the 83 Fleer set and the grey color. One of my favorite sets from the 80's. Really enjoyed the past thirty minutes and going down memory lane. Set was released when I was 10 and my parents did buy me some packs.

My monthly junk wax subscription box came in recently with a single ‘83 Fleer pack. I pulled Tony Gwynn! Hard to imagine paying over $300 for that entire box and not getting one TG. Nice box though with some nice pulls.

These are a special set of cards for me. These & 83 Topps were the 1st cards I ever bought. My favorite card ever is the "Smith Bros" card which I still have even though it's in bad condition from keeping it in a show box

Me as well. My friend 1989 was my introduction to sports cards which lasted about 4 or 5 years but back then the market was mass produced. It destroyed the hobby. I got back into it 3 months ago. I couldn't believe how hot the market is. It shocked me

I first bought donruss packs in 86 didn't take care of them, then in 88 I started buying again and got my Dad interested in the hobby again and we collected this set, my card shop was selling packs of these for $3 a pack. Love this set

Jerry Koosman is noteworthy (if you want to call it that) for winning 20 games in 1976 (21-10) and losing 20 games (8-20) in 1977. I don't believe he's the only MLB pitcher ever to win and lose 20 games during his career, but he's probably the only one to have those totals in back-to-back seasons.

I was always a fan of the Kelloggs cards from the early to mid 1970's because they had the small picture on the back of the card. So when these came out, I thought this set was great.

Look at how utterly old these dudes look like Gaylord Perry, Don Sutton and even Tom Seaver - it just blows my mind - because I'm older than they are in those pics - and I cant sit down and go out and have a beer without being ID'd by some kid that is young enough to be my kid, lol.... Look, I'm no angel - I've done my fair share but these dudes look like they're 20-30 years older than they are.... I mean Gaylord Perry is like 40 - he's three years younger than I am and he could be confused for an elderly "ball boy" pretending like he's NOT filing down baseballs in the dugout, lol... It just blows my mind how old these guys look that played in the 60's and 70's - regardless of the sport... I'm mostly a hockey guy but even hockey has their guys, like Alex Delvecchio, Jim MacKenzie etc.. They look like they're in their 60's when they're in their late 30's or very early 40's... I mean WTF was in the water back in the day?? are we evolving or something?? lol... Sorry I was just looking at that Gaylord Perry card the other day and I'm 43 - yet if I told someone this is a picture of my grandpa yesterday - people would believe it despite the fact he was 41 in that card.... I just find it interesting how old these guys look.

Not trying be a jerk but calling players being different tries hall of famers is a slap in the face to players and to the administration of hall of fame. Players and the voters do not look at players elected like that. When you are in the hall of fame you all are one of the greatest to play the game. It doesn’t matter if you are Babe Ruth, or Bruce Sutter your enshrined as the greatest because only 1% of of players ever to play the game are in the Hall of Fame.
