beautiful bike with a great color, the speedo on it was a great call and i myself favor the goldwings especially the older models between 80 and about 85. good for you and restoring a great bike
Awesome paint, very good looking in that color. Almost looks Pearl Orange in this vid. Too bad about the stock speedometer but good call putting something more accurate on it. I had an '81 with Vetter fairing and Samsonite luggage, I traded it in for the Valkyrie and often wish I hadn't. Had the extra lights up front. Ran power from the battery through a rocker switch below the fairing pocket on the left side. Inline fuse between the switch and lights as I recall.
I discovered that the previous owner put a different speedo on the bike. I replaced it with a speedo from another 1100 had higher speeds indicated and now it is dead accurate.
Steven......Go to Goldwingsdoc and there are a ton of Wingers who share stories/give advice on restoraton issues, etc. Superb site. By the way, most of us Wingers know that Sabre Cycle is a rip-off joint....they have burned many of us and we warn everyone to stay away from them.
Very nice, thanks for the tour. I've been wondering if I should restore my '83. I bought a Valkyrie instead and will decide later what to do with the old beauty.
