In Part 1 of the Kawasaki GPZ 1100 Rescue series, I start in on the project. Though the bike is a looker, it has some serious issues including poor braking performance, very rough-running motor, a slipping clutch, etc. On day one, I managed to:
set the proper chain tension
bleed the rear brake
clean the rear brake piston and lube the brake mounting hardware
properly seat the throttle bodies to the engine and to the airbox
start lubricating the clutch cable
While I was in there I discovered some more issues that I need to address:
dirty fuel filter
leaking gas gauge gasket (at the sending unit)
broken fairing stay bracket that needed welding
