Eyyyyy What's Up SenseiDominoe! This Was A Very Cool Idea Topps Had In The 80s. I Just Wish They Would've Made These Tamper Proof Packs Standard Sooner Than They Eventually Did.
I remember seeing these in 1988 at card shows. Shame Topps didnt adopt this packaging from 1983 to 1993. I LOVE how nice the cards look too with the "Propaganda piece" taking the gum hit. +1 sub =)
If nothing else you proved that just because you get skunked when ripping an older pack, it doesn't necessarily mean they have been searched. Lots of packs are just duds straight from the Topps assembly line.
Yeah, I Do Like That Eisenreich Card & I Didn't Even Realize The Dravecky Was Also A RC. Thanks For Pointing That Out. Very Cool Blog You've Got There By The Way!
For the longest time I just assumed all 83 topps packs were cello. It was only in the mid-2000s I bought a box of 83 topps and was surprised they were wax.
That's Wild...I See That You're Located In Michigan So It Certainly Makes Sense. I Only Learned About These Test Packs Within The Last Few Years, But I Think They're Great! I Would Definitely Like To Open Some More Soon. Thanks For Checking Out The Video By The Way.
For a second, i was thinking, "how come he wasnt excited about randy johnson, probably in the early stages of his career?" Then i realized it was a different randy johnson who kinda looked like the pitcher of the mariners 😆
I Appreciate You Checking Out The Video & Swinging By The Channel. Yeah, They Weren't Cheap & I Probably Should've Just Purchased A $100 Card Instead, But What Can I Say I Luv To Rip Packs.
@@thepinstripedtrailbeaver Woot Woot LOL! And, LOL - congrats on ripping something I have NOT had the opportunity to rip yet! Those test packs are tough to find 🙂
Hmm, while it's nice to open tamper-proof packs that you know aren't searched, aren't these packs like artifacts above and behind just packs? They're kinda rare, right?
Cal Ripken Jr., Lee Smith, and Dave Righetti second-year cards in the mix? This '83 Topps pack opening is a trip down memory lane! Best of luck finding those elusive rookies. Such a cool collection! ⚾
@@godisgreat8462 Yeah, He Played For 5 Different Teams Over The Course Of About 18 Years. He & His Son KGJ Even Played A Season Together w/ The Mariners In 1990.
I was disappointed in this video. If you wanted fresh 1983 Topps Baseball Cards why would you not just open wax packs? Instead you opened rare test packs. I'm sorry, but I could not finish watching this horrific event.
You can absolutely complain. That was like every rack pack of this I ripped a few years ago. None of the RCs we want are in any. Same for 82 and chasing Ripken. It’s fun to rip old packs, but the cost is prohibitive because they’re all gonna be duds on the RC front.
Yeah, I Hear Ya Man. I Know It's Always Better To Simply Buy Singles Value Wise, But I Guess I'm Addicted To Ripping & The Chase Unfortunately. Thanks For Checking Out The Rip BTW.
