This world cup we won largely due to great Kapil and Mohinder Amarnath. Great Amarnath is one of the most underrated player in history and also the victim of politics. In 1982-83 season, he played so magnificently that he scored 1182 runs in just 11 test matches played against strongest opposition i.e West Indies and Pakistan. He single handedly mastered Holding, Marshall, Garner, Roberts, Imran and Sarfaraz, This was the time when Imran was at his peak and west indies had most lethal bowlers in the history. During this season even greats like Gavaskar could not succeed. He scored 3 centuries against Pakistan and 2 against west indies in this season. Likes of Imran, Gavaskar declared him the best batsman in the world. And even west indian players like Holding, Marshall, Richards praised his batsmanship and courage

1983 world cup के समय मैं 10 वर्ष का था किंतु आगे के समय मे कपिल देव को लंबे समय खेलते देखा ,मैंने भी अपने स्कूल ,नगर में अपने साथियों के साथ बहुत cricket खेला ,कपिल मेरे आदर्श खिलाड़ी थे ,बैटिंग ,बोलिंग ,फ़ीलील्डिंग में उनको फॉलो करता था ,इन सभी players को देखकर सुनकर बहुत अच्छा लगा 😊

I remember hearing the commentary in my village from Radio.. There was some disturbance in transmission, so we couldn't understand when the commentator said who won, because we could hear only Ind.. We couldn't make out , is it indies or India.. Then the bulb struck in our heads.. We could clearly hear the guy commenting 'oh no! Indi..won' By that we understood it was India because nobody was expecting us to win.. We still have that recording somewhere.. I still get angry that he said oh no India won.. Still don't know who that arrogant commentator was.. I'm just proud that I belonged to that time when this miracle happened.. God bless them all.. U can see the purity d honesty as a natural glow in this legendary team..
